100% Pure Badger Shaving Brush

Very soft bristles. Seems to be a quality brush. Lathers up nicely and is easy to shave with. I like this and shave soap better than shave cream and takes the same amount of time.

The bristles are incredibly soft and the brush maintains its shape after each use. No weird smells or sharpness. A complete pleasure to use.I've been using it for 2 weeks so I cannot comment on what some have regarding the paint cracking. I would recommend not submerging this completely in water to preserve the product life -- this includes the handle and the area the bristles connect into the handle. I haven't really experienced loose pieces coming out. A possible explanation is some buyers are not properly blooming their shave soaps and lathering too aggressively. Also, don't forget to wet the brush. After each use you should either use a mount or lay it on its side. If you lay it directly on the brush side when wet it'll ruin the spread of the bristles.For a price near 10 bucks this is an absolute bargain and functions just fine. A great introductory buy to get into this kind of shaving without breaking the bank.

Writing this review after 3 years. I use it in my travel case as a nice cheap low quality brush. I noticed after the 2-1/2 year mark using this brush maybe 3 times a week, the bristles slowly started pulling out. Overall great brush for the price.

My late father used a shaving brush and I still have the handle from MANY years ago. I am not sure what prompted me to finally buy one of my own. I got this and it is beautiful to look at. However when I started using it I broke out almost immediately. After about three weeks I put it away but decided to try again about 4 months ago. I did not break out but it is shedding. In the last month I have long and short hairs/bristles every time I shave. I am using an olive oil soap and whisk it gently in the palm of my hand. I do like the lather but am not pleased at the loss of bristles this soon. I will see how long it lasts before I decide if I will buy again. (Online it says at least two years... and often longer... this is far less).UPDATE: It is now July 2024 and after losing bristles as it was getting broken in, it has been stable for a while and works well. At this point I would recommend this.

I've used this brush for over a month now at least five times a week. It isn't shedding and the handle is as nice and pristine as the day it arrived in the mail. No chipping paint or dents from where it was dropped a few times on the lavatory surface. It's a wonderful blend of course and soft when I use it to apply shaving soap. It leaves a good coating of soap very quickly. It's so much nicer and effective that using a spray can of foam with my hand. Oh... it cleans easily as well. The price was much better than many of the brushes sold on Amazon.

At the time of writing this review I have used the product for a few weeks now. I was very surprised at the quality of the stand. The packaging actually says the brush is the free item and the stand is the item you're actually purchasing. The brush itself, I was a little skeptical of. When I first used it a few hairs did come out. But after about two uses no hairs have fallen out sense. This is a really nice product and appears it will give years of use. The price was very reasonable as well being only $13.95. However I just checked and they're selling them for $12.95 now. I would not pay more then $14 since they're willing to sell it for that price it mustn't cost much to make them. Excellent deal excellent product.

Entry level badger hair brush that does the job initially but quickly starts to fall apart (literally) with frequent use over a 3 month period. The first 2 months is a dream but after that the honeymoon period is over and the brush is no longer useable due to an annoying level of shedding that gets in the way of a proper shave. Not a bad buy if you are just getting into razor shaves but would suggest other brushes beyond that.

Out of the box, I liked this brush. My intent was to replace the one in my travel kit but I replaced my every day brush instead.I have only used the brush twice so I may have to amend my review in the future.The brush does build and deliver a nice lather. The handle is comfortable and fits my stand. Overall, it is a lot like similar brushes.The star reduction is because the bristles were dyed and the dye comes off in the lather. Right now, I view this as a marketing flaw but it does reflect on the integrity of the manufacturer and/or marketer. The customer should be informed that dye was used or, even better, advertise the bristles as natural in color.When I discovered dye in my lather, I was glad I replaced my every day brush. If, somehow, the dye ended up on clothing, I can deal with it better at home than on the road.UPDATE 8/2019After years of service, the bristles started to shed. I purchased another Shaveway for my every day brush and will relegate the old one to the travel kit bag.
