What could have been $1000 project was resolved with this and some nice curtains for a little over $100 altogether. Definitely recommend. Like someone else I almost returned it not realizing the extra piece is only to be used as needed for extra length. Glad I read the reviews before returning.

I was recently racking my brain to come up with a way to divide a large room in my house that was currently being used as my workroom for products that I sell on Etsy. As my 20-year-old grandson was moving in with us, I made my workroom smaller in order to make a bedroom for him and I wanted an easy and inexpensive way to separate his bedroom from my workroom. I saw this Room Divider Tension Curtain Rod when I was shopping for a bathroom shower tension rod on Amazon and it had gotten very good reviews. I was a little skeptical because the room was at least 12' across and I couldn't see how a tension rod could stay up over that expanse. I must say I was pleasantly surprised at how well this tension rod works! I ordered 2 navy blue full-size flat sheets and attached them to the rod with round metal curtain hooks and put up the rod. With the round curtain hooks, the divider curtain slides easily across the rod and opening and closing the curtain is no problem. The tension rod, which is hung just below the ceiling, has stayed in place and not moved at all. I am very happy with this Room Divider Tension Curtain Rod because it solved my dilemma about dividing the room and giving my grandson some privacy. It was an inexpensive and rather simple solution to my problem and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

This curtain rod is an exercise in frustration to put up. How difficult can a tension rod be, after all?Well, it can be frustrating when it’s a design that is not “twist to adjust” like every other tension rod.So let me simplify the instructions to hopefully save you the aggravation.This rod adjusts in two ways. First, it adjusts in one inch increments with a metal button that pops up to hold it in the one inch increment you’ve chosen. That seems easy and secure. Unless your opening is not exactly in a one inch measurement. Mine, for example, was 48 1/2 inches. So the one inch increments with the pop up metal button did not fit the opening. It was either 1/2 inch too short or 1/2” too long.Step two, if your opening is not exactly on a one inch measurement…Choose the one inch notch just less than your opening. I had to choose 48”, the metal button popped into place, and the rod was 1/2” too short for the opening. Then, and only then, can you start twisting to adjust the length of the rod to make it longer.Once that was figured out, it was a breeze to set up. The rod is up and securely holding heavy black out drapes being used to close off a walk thru between two rooms, one that I don’t want to heat all winter with exploding energy costs. And the plan is working perfectly.
