I chose this product on the advice of a friend whose dog used it. As far as I can tell it has worked wonders for my dog also.

I am a believer
Our 12 year old wheaten terrier was having a terrible time with her arthritis in her front leg. She had basically given up on using it and seemed almost catatonic for a couple of weeks. She would occasionally whine in pain even while lying still. We were having a family debate about a new round of x-rays, medication, quality of life etc. This is heady stuff for any pet owner. I did some research and ended up on the Hope Science site which in turn lead me to Amazon. I was appreciative of all of the reviews and impressed by the number of folks who have claimed varying degrees of success with the supplement. I also read the reviews of the powdered form. We decided to go with the chews as we can easily "trick" our wheatens into eating anything wrapped in cheese. We decide to give the EFAC to our 13 year old male as well, his back legs are getting a little weak. Two days in and our girl walked down the stairs and across the living room and popped up to kiss my wife as she lay on the couch. This was something she has done thousands of times in the past but definitely not in the past few weeks. She was still limping but her leg was down, astonishing. Well a full week in and she is still limping a bit but has run down the stairs to bark at the delivery trucks and yesterday chased a squirell up the yard. Her appetite is back to normal and today when going for a ride, she braced herself on the arm rest as in times past. I can honestly say that she is almost back to herself and seems like she is revitalized. Our male also seems to have a spring in his step. I will contuinue to monitor their progress and revise the review based on the outcomes. For now, I can say that we are thrilled and will continue to order this product. She is 37 pounds and is getting 2 chews every morning on an empty stomach and our male is 60 pounds getting three chews. I hope this works for anyone watching their pets suffer as it has for us.

No Noticeable Improvement.......Still Watching
I give two EFAC tablets daily to my female English Springer Spaniel with moderate hip dysplasia and probable arthritis. I cannot say with any certainty that they are helping. She is fine most of the time, but occasionally has a flareup and needs an NSAID to reduce the pain and inflammation. The problem with EFAC and other meds of this type is that once you start them, it is difficult to stop without risking more discomfort. I find myself thinking, "it doesn't seem to be helping, but what if it is and she would be worse off without it." The tablets don't seem to have any unpleasant side effects and she sees them as treats, so I'm reluctant to stop them and risk even temporarily increasing her discomfort.

Had no effect on my dog.
I noticed no improvement in my dog's movement. Too much money for no improvement.

Dog won't eat them
This may have been a helpful product, but unfortunately my dog did not like the taste and refused to eat them. They have to be tasty enough for your dog to eat them otherwise they are no help.

It has helped us soooo much!
It has helped us soooo much! We have bought the powder version of this item before. Unfortunately they did not have that in stock when I needed to buy it again. I have a very large dog. She weighs in around 100 lbs. The powder is more economical for us to buy. The power does cause her to have a little bit of an upset tummy. I do NOT see that problem, so far with the capsules. I'm not sure if because they are compressed into a pill if it takes longer to dissolve thru her system vs the powder?? Not sure but it's the only theory I've got at this time. She eats them no problem. She gets relief from this product for sure. I wish I would have known about it years ago. I would have had her on it this whole entire time. We will definitely purchase this item again. Due to how her stomach is acting with this, maybe the pill form vs the powder version is the best for her. But it does take 5 pills per day for her to hit the recommended daily dose. I have her on lots of other supplements as well. Hopefully I can cut her down to four pills per day to make the bottle last longer.

Recommended by our vet
Both my older dogs have joint problems. Our vet recommended we start them on EFACS to help. Began with mixing the prefer into their food but then I saw that I could give them this pill form. Think it helps with their joints as they seem to be walking a little easier.

she does like the tablets
My Rottie has moderate hip dysplasia. She's been taking EFAC for about 1 1/2 month, and I really haven't noticed much difference. I'll give it another month or so; she does like the tablets!

Not a satisfied customer.
It says the pills are chewable, but my dog won't eat them unless they are wrapped in cheese - not my idea of chewable. I expect that to mean the animals will like them. I placed an order for this item on June 2nd and finally got it delivered on June 30th. Not my idea of good customer service. I don't think I will be ordering this item from them again.
