Knightsbridge IP54 Directional Garden Spike/Wall Spotlight, Aluminium, GU10, 50 W, Black

These are great, after bad experiences of ready made garden lights lasting just a couple of months I thought we would try these. I have 5 of them around my patio, they have been in for 18 months thus far and still look as good as when I had them installed. Each one has a good length of cable making them easy to install by use of waterproof 'T' connectors to a main cable or just by shoving a plug on if you only want to use then singly. We put Tapo RGB GU10 smart bulbs(they are quality) in ours, these are a bit fiddley to fit, the enclosures do come with suction cups to help fit the bulbs but these wont stick to the textured plastic lenses of modern LED bulbs. However with a bit of effort you can get the bulbs in ok. The seals are reassuringly big and the glass front is very securely held in with screws. These are really good quality light enclosures that should function for years to come, I'm really pleased we went this route.

Garden Light was as expected, and is very well made. 4 screws hold the front on, each with a small rubber grommet (be careful when you remove the screws), which then reveals a sealed glass lid covering the lamp recess. The light comes with pre-fitted 3-core flex, sealed with a compression gland, which makes installation nice and easy. Be sure to isolate the supply and/or consult a qualified electrician. A U bracket and soil spike give you some options, I’ve installed mine as down lights on the roof of my workshop with LED bulbs and they work fine. In the kit comes a clear “sucker” which is used to help install the GU10 bulb (not included). This, or a “Halogen Bulb Remover “ are definitely needed to guide the bulb in and twist lock it in to place. As well as fiddly bulb installation needing a few seconds of patience, the thumb screws that secure the light to the U bracket have 2 tiny washers and a compression washer on them. Watch out if you remove these thumb screws as the washers make a run for it the first opportunity they get. Overall, exactly as described and exactly as expected.

Excellent quality, in person they are even better than in the sales listing. And I really like the flexibility to mount on the provided spike or to mount on a wall or fence. Delighted.

Great well made and sturdy. I installed it without using the supplied ground spike. Comes with plenty of cable and x2 suction cups, one to use and a spare to help install the GU10 bulb required (note: not supplied). I used an LED GU10 and it works a treat. Another reviewer has said and i was aware 'be careful when you take out the 4 stainless steel screws to install the bulb. On the underside of each screw are tiny rubber washers which you could easily loose. I did my bulb on the kitchen worksurface so i could see them easily if they came off the back of each screw. Would recommend for the price.

Very pleased with this smart little garden spot however it's such a shame it's really not easy to fit the bulb which has to be pushed down and turned to lock in place. It's almost impossible for fingers to get a grip on the small lamp to lock it in place when it's pushed down as the lamp becomes level with the lamp case. I do not have a strong grip but using a rubber jar opener I managed to do it but such a silly design fault. The manufacturer should include a rubber suction device to make inserting the lamp easier.

Quality materials, easy to install and waterproof. I purchased 16 of these units and fitted a 5W LED bulb in each, so 80W in total - they replaced the original garden lights that were using 80W bulbs!
