An effective, flexible solenoid

I am using this solenoid in a home-brew pinball machine. Snappy response at 24 VDC and plenty of power. Square frame helps with mounting alignment. The plunger just terminates in a round rod, so I fabricated an endcap from a piece of 1/2" aluminum rod in order to have sufficient contact area with the ball (see photo).
