WORTH IT
This saw is a beast for the price I was not expecting it to be this good. It has ran great since I took it out of the box. I have more the 10 full tanks ran thru it some in decent temperatures others in the negatives starts on 3-4 pulls every time

Runs good right out of the box
Wish it came with 2 sets of dogs.

Does not work with stihl parts
Really tested this product this past month. Bought it for my husband for Christmas last year. The chainsaw worked great with minor issues for the first 4x going to cut wood. Then it started having issues. First the bar nuts are very cheap material and strip easy. Next the gas and oil caps break easy. The rubber on the caps are not good and you will have to replace them soon. Lastly, anything we have bought parts that are stihl do not work with this brand. So far that has been a lie.

Good saw for cc size in price comapard to oem saw
The media could not be loaded. This saw can run a 24in setup for sure, and is a few lbs heavier than the 440, (which is close to the same cc size) which I personaly like, cause you can let the weight of the saw do all the work. The saw was really close tuned correctly for our area (upper Illinois), only minor adjustment was made. Typical starting pattern for cold starts is 2-4 pulls with choke, the engine pops off, then you put the choke lever up one notch, (fast idle) usually 1-2 pulls and its off and running. All in all, it seems to be a good saw for the price, considering the price for a stihl, you would only get a ms250/ms251 homeowner saw at the same price point with a bar and chain.

Unreliable product
This saw worked for about 15 minutes. My husband called the manufacturer who suggested he send it for repair. An additional $50. Shipping to send to Indiana. Saw was returned and again only worked for a short while. I have sent the company an e mail but apparently, according to another reviewer, there will be no honoring of the warranty. My suggestion is find another chainsaw to purchase. If you were lucky enough to have success with this one, good for you, but I wouldn’t chance it.

A long review
Many mixed feelings. This could be a long review. Just like my long long winded back and forth communication with them. They have tried to help me and i can say how. But a straight swap under warranty was not issued. I had to set up H and L screws. Did that. Careful on the first run it gets really hot really fast. I was lucky. Not full throttle... 25:1.. I guess that broke it in ! Always starts about the fourth pull if everything is clean and adjusted. All good. I love that saw more than anything and give it the attention and respect it deserves because it really is a mad animal thatll cut your leg off in 2 seconds. My problem began the second week. A clutch spring had broken which i didnt see. Chain spun at idle. I thought idle must be too high but it made no difference. They told me the low speed screw was wrong. I readjusted it and it ran coincidentally i think but not enough bar oil flow. To cut this short i have taken that side of the saw off abput 20 times, i know how it works and after buyung a new clutch spring oil pump and more its the final hole before oil hits the chain thats blocked. I bet there is clutch spring jammed in it. Compressed air, a syringe, running straight gas through the oiler on a cold engine to clean the tubes. Nothing worked. I found a piece of spring in the pump housing. So they sent me a free crank case and a third oil pump and i bought the puller tool. So i am rebuilding it from the first piece up. Then ill know how an entire 038/g388 fits together! + point, parts are dirt cheap i love it! their chains rock they are equivalent to stihl super full chisel chains. The clutch spring happens on stihl 038 s also so i cant just blame farmertec. This company sells kits a lot, so if you buy one, expect to learn about the saw and have to work a bit on it. Stihls can have the same problems. I see it as a learning opportunity. Thinking about buying a bulk load of these and making them all run right and passing them on. My neighbor has the equivalent ms stihl and we saw no difference in starting or running both. So for that price more than anything. Ill say yes, go farmertec. Just dont expect a warranty replacement because something isnt right, they will suggest what you should check or adjust but its hard because most foreigners dont speak chinese and they try hard with english but its not easy! It probably costs them too much to bring a saw back that far and then have their team work on it, only to find a clogged filter or screw out of adjustment, so i can appreciate their hesitation on replacing saws. Make sure the bar screws are nice and loose before using the tensioner or the screw thread will break. Like any screw would. I must have run tbirty tanks through that saw maybe more. Starts the same every time. 24" bar eats wood for breakfast. Their bars are around ten bucks. You cant find better prices anywhere for the equivalent stihl part that fits exactly. You can buy ten of these new saws for the price of a new 38 magnum. So ill fix it and keep cutting and not expect as much as i would from a stihl dealer that charged me 1800 for a new sas and who is nearby and speaks english as a first language. Thanks.
