Will Smith Kills It
One of my all time favorites and sure to become a "classic" as time passes, Will Smith stars in this amazing tear jerker. He preforms so utterly raw, it leaves you haunted with thoughts of you're own life, you're own ability to love, and the affect you're own death would have if it was to be today.....The twist in the end is exceptional. Every actor in this movie should now go on to develop even more amazing careers. Every single one deserves acknowledgement.

Ben Thomas: "In seven days, God created the world. And in seven seconds, I shattered mine."
SEVEN POUNDS is easily one of the best movies I've seen this year. It's's been on my mind ever since the credit scroll.A sensitive and profoundly sad story is brilliantly handled by Will Smith.Prior to this picture, writer Grant Nieporte was a crew member on a few TV sitcoms. His remarkable big screen debut incorporates elements of Nieporte's life and experiences. To cite a couple of examples: The author's wife is an aficionado and operator of antique printing presses, as is Emily Posa (Dawson), a woman who's too disabled by congestive heart failure to continue her home business. Nieporte got the film's central plot point from someone he met: a man who accidentally caused a tragedy that made nationwide headlines.Smith here plays Ben Thomas. Ben's future and desire to live were destroyed by a momentary lapse of attention that resulted in seven deaths, including his fiancée's. Wracked with guilt and perpetual thoughts of suicide, Ben is still able to piece together a plan that may not alleviate his self-torment, but will positively affect the lives of seven people, a sort-of cosmic exchange for the seven souls he took in a car wreck. One of the chosen is Ben's younger brother (Ealy), the others are strangers he gets involved with through various means. Of these six, Ben becomes attached to Emily, who is desperately ill and in need of a heart transplant. Their romance is exquisitely bittersweet, for it may end when an already broken heart simply stops beating. The story's resolution is a tearful one, yet is so beautifully uplifting. Although the plot may be a tad confusing until the last 20 minutes or so, we can eventually see all the clues that were laid out for us along the way. Pondering these neatly fitted pieces after the puzzle was completed has kept my mind busy for several hours. It's been time well-spent.SEVEN POUNDS grossed nearly $170 million worldwide, yet I'd never heard of it until recently. I'm so glad I found this one and very highly recommend it!.Parenthetical number preceding title is a 1 to 10 IMDb viewer poll rating.(7.5) Seven Pounds (2008) - Will Smith/Rosario Dawson/Woody Harrelson/Michael Ealy/Barry Pepper/Bill Smitrovich

ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES EVER. Not for religious, judgmental people.
My headline says it all. This is one of the most beautiful, heartfelt stories about how people who have a heart full of integrity will help their fellow man/woman. If only the oh-so-hypocrytical “Christians” would act with such love, instead of the hate they so love to demonstrate. Will Smith acts as Christ would. This is not a religious movie. I highly RECOMMEND this movie ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Powerful, captivating, will strike you if you are highly empathetic.
Do not read reviews especially those referring to God and similar things. There is no God here whatsoever. Those who refer to it are highly religious and get scared at notions of people doing life sacrifices for othere; aka "playing God". Watch for yourself. Medical inaccuracies are irrelevant (doctor commenting here describing the real life transplantan, who cares? that's not the point here) those who get hang up on that are just trying to pick fight to justify their reasons of feeling uncomfortable. The movie is about what is human deep down in all of us and is superbly presented. Acting is superb. It's a long wait to the end to discover the whole story but highly worth it.

Seven Pounds may have just broken me as a human being.
Seven Pounds may have just broken me as a human being. It is extremely rare for a film to get me emotional, I am essentially dead inside. Yet here I am, alone in my house, wiping a few tears away as I say out loud "pull yourself together!". To describe the plot would be doing it an injustice, but essentially a man contacts seven strangers in an attempt to turn their lives around. This raises the fundamental question: why? Now that would be a spoiler. Now I'm not tearing up just because it's a beautiful heartfelt drama, no no. I'm emotional because it just goes to show that performing acts of kindness can really make a difference in someone's life. We now live in a world where we keep ourselves distant from others. Isolated. Solitude. But what if you went outside and decided to help someone, even if it was just a stranger. The little difference you could make to their lives may just change your own. Seven Pounds eloquently explores that, perhaps slightly too melodramatically but it was required to make its purpose apparent. The extremities that our protagonist goes through to help others is rather inspiring. As the plot thickens, we soon start to unravel why he is doing this...and it's utterly heartbreaking. The last twenty minutes...damn. Just damn. It got to me. For that reason alone, I will remember this film for many years to come. This is undoubtedly one of Will Smith's best performances. Nuanced, understated and emotionally complex, he was able to evoke a sense of morality and innocence that we should all pursue in our own lives. Not to the extremities that his character undergoes, but kindness is a powerful trait to acquire. The supporting cast were excellent also. Big fan of Rosario Dawson who pulled in a beautiful performance. Woody Harrelson was good, would've liked to have seen more interaction with him. Direction solid, musical score hard hitting, wonderful cinematography...I could go on. To say Seven Pounds is a "nice" film is wrong. It's more than that and deserves far more attention, albeit slightly too melodramatic.

Truly incredible story and very much an oscar level performance by Will Smith. Now one of my favourites films of all time
This is a totally amazing film. I watched it for the first time this evening and it felt like an emotional roller coaster ride from start to finish, By the time I was watching the final scenes of the story tears just poured down my face, I couldn't stop crying.. I felt totally drained by the end of the film but also somehow privileged and touched.. Will Smith is at his very finest with this production, all his traumatic memories and deep emotions are written on his face throughout every single scene, the pain is totally exposed.. He is such an incredible actor and I truly feel he excelled himself with this production. It is more of a woman's story I would say, you cannot fail to be affected by it, I know some of those end scenes will remain in my mind for days and weeks. I have my own copy so will watch it again every so often. It's the first film I've seen that actually made me feel different afterwards, as though I was one of the characters in the story, and truly, truly blessed.

Seven Pounds
`Seven Pounds' is one of those films that is hard to review without giving anything away. It is a modern day weepy with a twist and has excellent performances from all involved. I'm a fan of Will Smith, but even taking that into account he still acts brilliantly in this film. You can work out the plot fairly quickly, but that doesn't stop you from being affected at the end and being mildly shocked by a few extra twists that are thrown in for good measure. In fact it shows how good the film is that you are left affected despite guessing the ending. Even with the overall feeling of sadness that colours this film and leaving you emotionally overwrought at the end, it still has a positive message about life and encourages you to go out and think about your relationships and outlook on things. A top film with superb acting from the whole cast. Well worth checking out.Feel free to check out my blog which can be found on my profile page.

Will Smith's best yet?
Seven Pounds is an odd film to review since by saying a little bit too much results in ruining it.I did wonder if it would be worth watching again but now I have it, yes it is. Will Smith is on top form and in serious actor mode. The film itself is one of those that you don't really have a clue what's going on for much of it. But in the end all is revealed and it's all worth watching for. If you like Crash, you love this. It's a tremendous storyline and probably his best film in my opinion but others may differ. The BD is top quality with a great picture and TrueHD (although the soundtrack doesn't mean a lot in this title).Highly recommended.

A Beautiful Story
The role for Ben Thomas was made for Will Smith. A film that has a beautiful story and you want to understand what is driving Ben and what his pain and demons are. Yes it is a film which may not be plausible at times, but just let yourself pass the obvious fiction and just enjoy a film and the wonderful acting of all the cast.
