Expensive initially, but a $ saver over time!
K&N filters are expensive, but well worth it. I have gone 75,000 miles on ONE of these. Yes, they're advertised to 1 Million miles, but lets be realistic. After you've cleaned it a number of times the cotton inside the mesh will start to wear. But that's ok, 75k miles is insane for an air filter.Truck runs better with one of these too, I notice a slightly better throttle response and less gear hunting (albeit I did get this as part of a cold air intake kit). I have also noticed about 0.5 MPG improvement.Yes, the initial investment is comparatively high, and you have to maintain it, but in the long term your vehicle will run better and it will ultimately be cheaper than replacing your air filter at every oil change (like you're supposed to!)
