It don’t stop your dimming lights. It’s a power source that stores power
It handles power well. This item will not stop your lights from dimming. What it does is store power in it so the amp don’t take it straight from the battery. If you want the dimming to stop. You have to upgrade your alternator to battery wire a ground to chassis and engine to chassis only way to make it stop. I have a what looks to be a 10 gauge wire from my alternator to battery and that’s factory. That’s why you need to upgrade the wiring super easy

Saved my vehicle for the moment
Headlights were dimming on my vehicle due to too much power from my amp/subs. Finally decided to get this when i noticed it was almost half off on $ale. Took me awhile before actually setting it up. Pretty simple. I just made it complicated then it seemed. Yes it did help tremendously. Hooking it up.

Pretty neat, but be leary of the instructions on this page...
I like this cap. I like the look of it, too. It's a perfect fit for my application. It's packaged pretty well too. The one thing I don't care much about, but isn't about the product itself really, is the support. Yes, you can get what seems pretty good support, but it's through BOSS AUDIO. Planet Audio on all their products have sub-contracted out the support; which I am alright with that...but it's just something you wont really know until you buy something and have a question. One other tid-bit... If you have never used a cap, like me, MAKE sure you consult the instructions. They did provide them, but before I had really went through them or even taken this from the plastic casing to which it was tied down, I was curious how to charge it correctly. The way it's explained on this page, and shown in the picture is incorrect... they told me, and later when I read the instructions, you must have your (-) wire connected and grounded, and ONLY have your remote wire from the deck connected to the cap and nothing else... The explanation on here is showing only the (+) lead and inbetween the posy wire and they posy terminal of course is the resistor... this is incorrect according to the Tech Support/Instruction manual. As far as function, I've not had the chance to get it rolling. I have a few other components I'm waiting on, and when I get them all together and check everything out, I will revisit this review and post an update. Just becareful.. as always, if it has instructions, read them. Oh yea.. The CAP shown in this picture, is NOT the one you will get; IT looks identical to this one, with one exception; instead of two terminals on each side, the 10F Cap will have only one terminal on each side. The one shown here is the 20F model.

Voltage still dropping below 12vDC.
Have a Skar 1500 RMS amplifier that was bringing my voltage gauge down and dimming my lights. I did not test actual voltage but felt it was pulling way to hard on the alternator. I rebuilt the vehicles alternator (assuming that it is now putting out a full 140 amps) and tested the voltage without the radio, which was 14.2vDC. Install this capacitor and charged it up, which it didn't really charge according to the manual and only going to 7.7vDC (manual stated full charge), and then made the full hook up and full charge. The LED voltage on the capacitor indicates 14.2vDC without the subs hitting. BUT, by the LED readout and by my dash voltage, it still draws down slightly below 12vDC and the headlights still have a little dim to them. I feel (from my reading) this capacitor size should have been big enough to withstand the power pull from the amplifier so I am disappointed to still see the voltage drop this much. I guess I would have been satisfied seeing it drop from 14.2 to 12.6vDC.

So far ok
Helps when the bass drops

Used this in my 59 Chevy truck build. 100 watts to 2 12” subs and another 1200 watts to 4 other mids and tweeters. With bass fully turned up there is absolutely no headlight dimming. Works great!

State attenti a questo venditore! Pensano di essere furbi ma non lo sono. Dovevano distruggere anche la scatola. VENDITORE NON SERIO!
