Greek Kalamata Whole Olives in Brine - 2.9 KG Net Weight (2 KG Drained Weight)

I bought my first huge jar of these olives in April 2019 ....I think I hadn't quite grasped the size of a 2.9kg jar! I opened the jar asap to try them and they were delicious! I then put them in a space at the back of the larder and sort of forgot about them! I continued to buy many smaller jars of olives, which we then, eventually, consumed. It was only towards the end of summer last year 2022 that we found we had run out of other smaller jars of olives, and was about to serve up a Greek salad!! Couldn't find a jar anywhere! My husband then reminded me that we had that massive jar of olives still in the larder (somewhere)? by this time they were 3 years old and been through some huge temperature ranges, (and had been opened previously, not to mention long past their so-called BBD).......we duly found the jar and opened them up, really expecting them to have deteriorated in quality but the total 'opposite' had happened, they had 'matured' to point of being THE best Kalamata olives I have ever tasted and they were fabulous when we first tasted them from the same jar 3 years before!!! So, don't worry if you end up keeping this huge jar for some time, they get better with age! Now eagerly awaiting me 2nd tub, which somehow, I don't think will last quite so long!!!!!!!

Flavour is great, my family love it.For me personally are a little bit to salty for my taste, but my dear one's didn't mind at all.

I have tried many other importers but these are the best... six or seven tubs so far this year and they've been consistently good.I recommend draining the tub and de-canting into half a dozen plastic tubs and covering with a 'decent' olive oil... I have re-used the same oil six or seven times with the only effect that it seems to improve the taste of the oil!I have tried adding thyme and other herbs and it seems to work quite well but use fresh herbs if you do... they are fine to eat from the tub but I prefer to decant as described and then I put them under the sink where it's very cool, never in the fridge.I haven't kept them a long time as it only take me three weeks to eat the lot but I reckon they'll last a good length of time even when opened.The tubs arrive in strong boxes, very well padded and in two very thick plastic bags with masses of sticky tape... I have never had a package leak.

First order I received was really fantastic. The 2nd order was not as good. Most olives don't look, feel or taste ready. I was quite disappointed, especially after the brilliant first batch.

Nice olives, a bit on the salty side but great with bread. They come in rapeseed oil and some brine.Will probably buy again.
