God's Appointed Customs: A Messianic Jewish Guide to the Biblical Lifecycle and Lifestyle

I have been studying the Old Testament in Bible studies a lot the last 10 years and I keep having the same questions about the Festivals and observances that God set up that He said are to be EVERLASTING. Yet we as Christians do not do them.I understand that Christianity is the fullfillment of Judism and at a heart and soul level have had the need to understand more about my Jewish roots thru Yeshua.This book is making that connection for me and seeing that it is okay to observe these feasts and connect them to what they mean in the New Testament. This is a wonderful easy to understand book that will help you if like me you have this longing to connect more to how Jesus worshiped and what the early first chruch was like.

I very much enjoyed Mr. Kasdan's first book "God's Appointed Times". In my opinion, "God's Appointed Customs" was much more detailed. Mr. Kasdan managed to discuss some very controversial things in the Torah in a gentle and respectful manner.I did not totally agree with his explanations of circumcision and the kippah but it wasn't so much that the book deserved less praise. I titled this review "Bravo!" because there were certain chapters, such as the kosher chapter that were done very well. Mr. Kasdan presented all the information with adequate Scripture and history. For anyone interested in becoming Torah Observant, I highly recommend this book.

I purchased this book also with The World That Jesus Knew so I can gain understanding of the meanings of customs and culture from two thousand years ago. The Western/modern world has lost much of this understanding. I am still searching for understanding for the parables that Christ spoke about and why he used them.

I heartily recommend it to anyone who wants to learn about the holidays; especially Yeshua (Jesus) followers and or those who seek to understand the Jewish context of their faith. A go-to resource book that has served me for decades. A rich blessing to the entire faith community.

I had misplaced my first copy and this is a VERY important book to our family who has discovered the real 'roots' of our Christian faith and to us the importance of observing the festivals. This is a veyr good book for guiding anyone in this endeavor....good explanations and simple ways to use this information for your family.

If you have ever had a desire to have a better understanding of what the Feast of the Lord is all about then this book will be of great help to you. It guides you through all the Feast and the their seasons.

Well-organized, clearly explained, personable style. History, scripture, traditions, real-life applications, ideas, illustrations, recipes, music — its all there! Indespensible and valuable resource!
