Best STEM Robotic Device on the market
(Bought this for a 5 year old) Absolutely OUTSTANDING product. As both a creative lead and tech developer, my personal standards for these types of devices is quite high and this little thing has not only met every expectation and promise, but exceeded them. In a world flooded with mediocre (or outright horrible) iterations of educational scientific / tech / STEM toys, it is incredibly satisfying to land on a product so well designed and constructed in every aspect of its envelope. MAJOR props to the teams behind the Dash. I cannot recommend it enough, both my 5 year old and myself find the device challenging and fun to use; a very difficult thing to accomplish. PROS: - Slick product design and very solid / sturdy construction. - Powerful, smooth and responsive motors, will not get stuck on simple objects in its path and can truck over changes in terrain such (rugs clothing) with little effort. It can also avoid obstacles. Motors have a very smooth motion. - Great battery life, and quick charging. I have not tested the full discharge, but you can easily get over an hour's worth of play-time out a partial charge (probably more). - Nearly infinite configurability. I am simply blown away by the number of pre-defined nodes you can pull up and program into the system, as well as the simplicity of adding your own. the result is a ridiculously vast ability to configure different programs and interactions. - FANTASTIC companion application, BRILLIANT UX/UI. I cannot overstate how incredibly well designed and implemented the robot and application are. The application It is one probably the best I have ever seen for a toy like this and easily the one thing that sets this above the rest. It is intuitive, responsive, and the education / tutoring progression section is phenomenal. My child has a blast going through the progression and enjoys the feel of the presentation. It does an excellent job of conveying basic and advanced principles and getting the user to not only execute those principles, but QA them. SUPER PRO - NO account sign up. NO user info. NO data tracking. In a world where every damned thing wants to siphon personal info through a sign up, subscription to a news letter, liking of a Facebook post, submission of a credit check and donation blood... for the honor of using it, this device has NONE of that nonsense. THANK YOU DASH! SUPER DUPER PRO - Price. I have seen a plethora of far inferior toys for double the cost (or more). This thing is a no-brainer at this price, especially when compared to the garbage out there. CON / ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT - I had to struggle with a CON, so this really more of an improvement request. A better way to export / view the actual code which the application is running, so the user can see a comparison between the node layout and the code used to execute the commend. This is minor though, as the current structure does an EXCELLENT job of introducing programing concepts, workflows and troubleshooting. Just get it. You will not at all be disappointed.

Simply the best robot for kids
We love LOVE Dash. We bought it for our 4 year old who is obsessed with roombas and robots. We've tried other robots on the market and nothing compares to Dash. Our kid loves making Dash zip around the house and changing the colors on its dots and recording messages. Dash has 4-5 different apps that can control it, with each app targeting a different age range. There's one app for little kids (3-4 years old) that turns Dash into basically a remote control car. There's another app for slightly older kids (4-5), where they can code Dash by drawing on the screen where they want him to go. There's another app for 5-6 that is more abstract, where they drag and drop pic commands. Then there's a complicated app for kids with good reading skills, where the commands are long sentences that can be mixed and matched. So we're very happy that Dash will age along with our child, adding a lot of playability and value. We cannot think of a single thing we'd change.

This amazing little robot and his associated apps make him extremely ...
This amazing little robot and his associated apps make him extremely versatile and allow my children to be as creative as they want in programming behaviors and building attachments. The beauty of it is that it can grow with the boys. There are other attachments and even a little one-eyed Dot. The possibilities for expansion and creativity are endless and will last years. This is screen time I really don’t mind because it has proven fun and educational for our whole family – even the cats and dog. I highly recommend this robot for kids who aren’t yet motivated to program or code. The recommended minimum age is 8 – and my eight-year-old adores it – but my delight with this little robot should prove that fun and learning simply don’t have an age limit. Get one for your child or just for yourself – its a kick! The beauty of this experience was as soon as Dash came out of the box, my sons were engaged and exploring every one of his features. In less than an hour, they were using one of Dash’s apps to start coding behaviors. I’ve been trying to get my kids engaged in coding for years but this little robot did it in his first hour with them. We didn’t have to read books or go to a Spring Break Camp to learn how to use Dash. The apps were easy to use, encouraged curiosity and experimentation and made coding instantly rewarding and fun.

Battery will not hold charge
My son and I have really enjoyed this robot. He doesn't use it all that often, but when we get it out to play, it's good for a good long play session usually. Unfortunately, the battery has stopped holding a charge. There isn't much info that I can find online to troubleshoot the issue and now we are forced to wait for customer service to help us out. I had just bought the launcher for him for his birthday and we only got to use it for a short while before the battery needed to be recharged. We've tried recharging like we have done many times before, but nothing when we try to power it back on. If anyone has any ideas to try please let us know. We have already tried firmware update, but the robot will not respond. UPDATE: Wonder replaced our Dash robot. So far so good. Hopefully this issue doesn't occur again with the new robot.

Son loves this robot. Works really well with the Wonder apps and offers lots of opportunities to learn about coding. Dash can do a lot more than his previous MIP robot and can provide endless hours of fun. Build quality is excellent. Bit pricey, but grab a bargain if you see it on offer! Would definitely recommend.
