Nordic WareCommercial Induction Fry Pan with Premium Non-Stick Coating, 8.25-Inch

I purchased this pan about 2 years ago because I wanted a Made in America product. It works very well. I had to adjust my cooking temperature down since it transfers heat so efficiently. The original pan is still in use, but my teenage kids have scratched the surface here and there by not using the silicone spatula. So, I purchased a second pan and it has worked as expected. Very pleased with these.

So, right off the bat, I use this pan on a flame burner. Cannot make any comments about an electric burner or on an induction cooktop. I cook with gas. On the stove top, this pan works fine. No problems. No problems with the pan spinning or things like that.So, this pan is not super super heavy, which, in truth, I would prefer. Heavier pans in my opinion are just better for heat retention. But that being said, I got this pan because it was cheap cheap cheap. Which for me means I can abuse it and replace it when necessary.The surface is fine (I cook with fats). Fries a pair of eggs (in dab of butter), and the eggs are flippable without any utensils at all. I can also poach single eggs in this pan without a problem. I've also cooked salmon slices on this pan without any problems. It works. The non-stick surface also cleans well with just a paper towel. I don't know if this surface can be scratched by metal tools because (if I ever need any) I have only use wooden utensils when cooking with this pan.Just to note, the handle can get a little warm while cooking with this pan, but it's nothing that a small towel or pot holder can't solve.

Bought another non-stick which said was induction ready, and it was not. This works well, and is non-stick. 8.5 inches, great for omlettes and such. Not a gorgeous piece, but it's a pan.

As other reviews have noted, this pan is advertised to be a Commercial quality Induction pan. As can be seen in my photos, a magnetic timer does in fact stick to the bottom of this pan. Problem is that the wife has noticed that the outside bottom has turned color and today, while cooking a piece of french toast on level 6, the inside of the pan started peeling off. Totally unusable now. This company used to make a great Bundt pan, should stick to that product.

I’ve been purchasing the Nordic Ware line for years. Great, restaurant quality skillets. As expected, they need to be replaced every few years as they wear. But when I received this one it was immediately clear that they were using a lighter gauge aluminum, and as I have used it I’ve found the heat doesn’t disperse as evenly and the non-stick isn’t as good. Too bad.

I also have the American Kitchen Elite (Made in the USA) pans that sell for $300 for an 12" fry pan and I think the quality of the (Made in the USA) Nordic Ware pans are every bit as good or better. I love these pans and will buy more of these to replace my far more expensive pans.

I ordered this pan because the small one I got with my PIC sticks so bad. Because I ordered it from a TV advertisement ,they had no record of the sale, so they would not replace it. I am so glad to have bought this pan !! I works so well with my PIC and all I have to do to clean it is swish some water around in it and it comes out clean, NO SCRUBBING !! The cost of this pan is so much less than the ones in the stores, and that is another bonus!
