I'll add to the pile of 5/5 reviews for these. They are great quality and super-useful tools. I've got Channel Locks, which are OK, but these ones are the best in class. Smooth, strong, and bite-tightly. I've got the minis, the 7 inch, and the 10 inch, and also the giant 20+ inch ones. They all perform very well. They punch way outside of their weight class for most tasks. Not cheap, but buy once and cry once. If you have to pick a place to start, start with the 180s or 250s (7 or 10 inch), and go from there. It's probably worth getting a kit of three sizes though. You won't regret it. Knipex makes great tools overall, and these, their various cutters and pliers, the electrician's tool, and the pliers wrench are all awesome.

These are the perfect-size little ones if you are looking at the 6" and thinking...."which set went missing", don't get the 6" they are tiny. These are the ones. Everything from refridgeration piping hangars to 3/4" nuts on roof drains, these fit it. They are the golden size for smaller work. Maybe use a bigger set on them roof drains.

Once you use these pliers you will not go back to channel lock or other brands

These are my go to pliers, absolutely the best and most used pliers/wrench in my extensive kit! Whenever I have a bolt/nut to turn or need to really strongly grasp something small I start with my Knipex Cobras, specifically my 7 1/4” (180mm), because 99 times out of 100 it’ll get the job done quickly. Whether I have a small part like a stuck cotter pin to remove, or a large 1”+ bolt/nut to turn it can handle most anything! Yes they aren’t the cheapest, but that is because they are quality, they truly are a replacement for many other wrenches and will be with you for life! There are imitators who’ve copied the design, some not too badly (I’ve even purchased a couple to try), but even the best of the competition pales in comparison! I own larger versions of these Cobras, but it’s truly extremely rare that I’ve ever needed to utilize them as the 7-1/4” are so useful and conveniently sized. When affecting a repair on the heavy equipment I maintain I usually have these in my back pocket (literally) they fit perfectly and comfortably and are so useful. If you’re looking for a pair of pliers then THESE ARE THE PLIERS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR! If you’re looking for a gift for a wrencher/gear-head then those are perfect as they will be found extremely useful and will last a lifetime which is something that cannot be said about most tools. This is the kind of tool your future grandchildren will still find extremely useful and perhaps the most cherished hand-me-down/memento they’ll ever receive, even if you’re currently just a kid yourself!

These Cobra pliers are seriously impressive. The self-locking grip is incredibly strong, and the adjustment mechanism is smooth and precise. Despite the compact size, they bite into fittings and pipes with authority. Worth every penny — Knipex quality never disappoints.

I did plenty of research and reading when deciding on a pair of adjustable grips/pliers, as I wanted a pair I could rely on again and again and keep for life. I'm glad I chose the Knipex and paid out for quality. Whilst they are not the cheapest set of pliers, their craftsmanship is superb. They are a breeze to use, machined well and I expect them to last a lifetime if cared for properly. The button adjustment is very effective in locking the pliers, yet is easy to use and adjust as necessary. The multi angle jaws provide good grip on a multitude of surfaces and the handles are just right for me. The coating is a thin and very slightly spongy material, than feels comfortable in bare hands and not too big when wearing gloves. I prefer slim handles like this, rather than excessively padded ones as it is easier to get access into tight spaces and it feels easier to transfer turning force. Would definitely buy Knipex again if/when I need another size.

I made the mistake and fell for a set of cheap noname pliers. But working with them was horrible. Don't be as stupid as I was. "Who is buying cheap buys double". Buy the best and work will be fun like driving a Porsche.
