Follow the manufacturer's recommendation to wipe the suction surface with a damp towel before application of suction cups. Any wax or silicone could interfere with strong adhesion. ( I have traveled several hundred miles on the interstate hwy. at speeds up to 75 mph. with no loosening or vibration - It's convenient to view the bikes through the glass roof!) 2. Be sure to remove all pieces before running your vehicle through an automated wash! I forgot once, and ended up having to replace my rack. NOTE: My schedule was super busy last summer, and I kept putting of removing the suction mounts for about 2 mos. I was concerned that my deep shine red paint job would be dulled or worse. Nope. I was relieved that after allowing the device to stay adhered to my roof - through a couple of rain showers - no dulling or damage at all. This product is a great buy, and as I've stated before, a high- end vehicle needs a high end product to protect your investment. This is it. Yay, Rock Bros.!!!
