For a tough and reliable boot, look no further than the Ladyhawk hunting boot. A sturdy leather and canvas upper keep your feet dry with Ultra Dry water resistant technology, while the generous shaft gives your ankle the support it needs while you're out on the hunt. Hunting isn't their hobby. It's their calling. It's all they were made to do. In sixty years, they've never lost focus. They've never followed anything but their instincts. They've never let up. They still live for the chase, pursuing innovation from dusk to dawn. They're in the fields, the blinds and the stands, long after the fair-weather crowd heads inside. They do all of this to build incredible hunting boots, because at Irish Setter, the hunt never ends.

They work great for both
I bought these primarily for hiking in Ireland, but I still wanted something practical for Minnesota use (and waterproof for both!). They work great for both! I did break them in gradually first, and I had to upgrade the insert to one with better arch support (but be careful how thick you go, there's not a lot of vertical room). But I found an arch support insert similar to the thickness of the originals, but with more solid support and then they were perfect. They were cute enough when I had to wear them for a while in between hikes in various cities or restaurants over my jeans (skinny jeans--no room to cram bulky jeans in these), but be advised that they are still quite bulky. (And be sure to wear with thick hiking socks to save any rubbing on shins.) However, they saved my ankles in several instances on uneven and rocky cliffs/terrain. I even accidentally stepped into a few rock pools by the ocean a few times, and never once experienced a wet sock!

Not good for hiking
I bought these last year for snowshoeing in the mountain. I wanted to have something warm, waterproof with tall shafts. Based on the reviews, This pair seems to be a prefect fit. Unfortunately, the snow season ended after I bought them so I didn't get a chance to try them out. I put them on in the house and walked around. They felt comfortable fitting. Yesterday I took them out for my first snow hiking trip this year. The shaft is so tall and rigid. I got bruises all over my calves from wearing them from my hiking. It's bulky and heavy. I didn't get blisters on my feet though. It's just definitely not for hiking. I cannot return them now because it's over 1 year already.

Great price for great boots
Bought these for my hunt this fall, and so far I am impressed. I have worn them a few times in attempts to break them in before my hunt and I have to say, they are very comfortable. I did l but a half size larger than I normally wear as per recommended by previous reviewers and they fit perfect. Can't wait to get to put them in action and use them in the high country since they have already exceeded my expectations. They do seem to make your feet look a little larger than normal, but keep in mind they are very insulated

I loved those boots and was sad to see them go
After 20+ years, my Iditarods finally wore out. I loved those boots and was sad to see them go. There weren't a lot of choices in a ladies leather winter boot but I must say I'm really happy with these. They were true to size and comfortable right out of the box. I mainly use them for daily dog walks of an hour or so. We had excessive cold and snow in our part of the country this year and my feet were always warm. Towards spring, I broke through some thin ice and my feet stayed perfectly dry. I've only worn these for a couple of months so I can't speak to the longevity but we're off to a good start.

Good Value
Boots do run a bit snugger, which works for me walking/working uneven terrain. If one is to wear heavy socks, do consider a half size larger. Like most work/sport boots they are a bit stiff, so allow for a break in period. Insoles are removable (which I appreciated) so can replaced with gel, foam or fleece-type insoles. Pretreated boots (including laces & fabric) with mink oil, not necessary but did anyway. All and all satisfied boots are worth the money.

very comfortable. good grip on icy snow
very comfortable. good grip on icy snow, refrozen snow. With the insulation they are a bit heavy as would be expected. I usually wear an woman 8, got a woman9 and it fits well with heavy wool socks. They are a bit bulky as expected with this much insulation-for example, the women's 9 is about the same sz as a men's uninsulated sz 9 boot outwardly.

Good pair of boots
Finally got a pair of boots that aren't too wide in the heel area. Expect I'll be able to go far without blisters in these. Won't be trying them out until winter as they are insulated but expect them to do well. Ended up giving the last 2 pairs of hunting boots to charity as they just didn't fit right. The Bass Pro & Cabelas brands just don't do it for me/
