First, let's get the material question out of the way. Only the frame is aluminum. The body is a fiber plastic stuff. The frame might survive my standing on it, but the other stuff won't. But for the price this thing is stellar ! The frame is black aluminum and this thing is stout. The manufacturer (presumably somewhere is Asia) includes a note pointing out the long journey this case had getting to me, and that if there were any flaws or damage they would make good.The inside has easily (hand torn) formed black foam so you can shape the cutout interior as you like it. I don't use mine for diamonds either cut or uncut. Nor do I use it for priceless jewelry. Don't use it for my camera either. I use mine for keeping guitar strings (which should be kept out of light), guitar tuners that are fragile electronic instruments, tuning forks and a small collection of small guitar "stuff". That means it is used to hold and protect truly valuable things !I was willingly prepared to be disappointed with the quality of this case. After all, it's primary function is to keep guitar things in a central location, and be absolutely dark and cushioned inside. That's all I required. But now that I've seen it and loaded it up with my treasures I can say without reservation that this a remarkable piece of equipment. It is truly great. Would I carry my rare camera lenses and camera bodies in it for a trip around the world ? No. I would not. But if all I was doing was moving this stuff from place to place here in the States and protect it from hurried truck packing and car jostling this would be just the ticket.If I ever need a case of this ilk in the future, I will search on Amazon for the Hul name because this thing is outstanding. And, Yes, I am a very very cranky critic.

I’ve used this case to transport my small mixing board (and power supply) safely to and from over 100 gigs in last four years.The case is tough and reliable, latches work great, handle is tough.Also I love the perforated foam blocks, I took out a small gap to keep the power supply box inside so it’s safe and together.

Case appears to be very sturdy. I'm not sure I'd check it at the airport (more because of what will be stored in it), but I think it would do fine. The foam is not too flimsy. It stands up well after removing blocks to create "cradles" for you items. You choose length, width and depth by removing 1/2" cubes (the cubes go 4 deep....total 2"). I had been searching for a travel case for my larger watches (one is 60mm lug to lug) that wasn't too expensive. This case works perfectly. I got the case and some black pillows (arriving later) for under $50. Very pleased with the purchase.

The case is sturdy & looks sleek. Good size too. The latch locks don't work & won't turn. Bad design on the latches, the lock should be under handle in the center between latches. Will work fine for it's use, just wish it had a usable lock.

Sturdy and easily customized. The “pick and pluck” foam is easy to adjust but if you want something to conform perfectly to your equipment, you may need to buy replacement foam and cut it to your specification. I just wanted something that provided a professional look while also protecting the main clippers and accessories.

Seems to be pretty good quality for the price, was able to fit everything nicely. Pluck foam. Only thing I disliked was in the description of the item listed, and the features and details. The dimensions of this item are advertised at 2 or 3 different sizes. Please fix this. Anyways I added photos maybe this will hopefully address the issue temporarily until the dimensions are accurate in both the item description section as well as the features and details specs. Thank you!

Pros: looks good, adequate if you make modification.Cons: The top layer of foam is not thick enough to hold things in place, There's a gap that lets things fall out and roll around once it's closed unless the carve out slots are 2 sizes smaller than the objects. Work around its to buy another layer of foam and put it behind the top cover.The other problem is once you remove foam section, the bottom is completely exposed the the shell. The foam is not cut into cubes, it just cut virtually in plan view. Work around is to use some of those removed cubes and turn them sideways and stuff them into the bottom of the carved out spaces.

I really like this case! I use it for my MIRROR Projector and it's perfect. Not waterproof and don't expect it to keep electronics safe from a hard drop.
