The Cressi Shock Cord is a must have for spear fisherman. This invaluable cord can save you the frustration of losing your catch, your shaft, or breaking your line. One end attaches to your gun and the other to your line. The concept is that tension is dampened, more so than just attaching your line directly to the gun. This is advantageous when your catch pulls on the line; instead of the shaft tearing out of your catch, the shock cord offers less resistance on the line. Don t go spearfishing without a shock cord, or you might lose your catch! The Shock Cord are available in 3 designs: Plain, with Snap and with Pigtail Swivel. The Pigtail Swivel and the Snap allow you to unclip the line to either change spear or to thread a fish off the mono. After hit a fish it’s easier to push it through the head, unclip the mono and push it out. The products are made in Asia under the Quality Specification of Cressi, brand pioneer on Spearfishing. The product has a limited warranty of 24 months.

Dangerous! Wishbone falls right off, and does not fit!
I've been using guns like this one for 15 years and never had so many problems. It has wrecked 3 dives and cut my finger. First dive- Threads were tight, I loaded the gun, and both bands shot out, wishbone lost, spent 30 minutes looking for it in the kelp before I found it. Second dive the next saturday, I had snugged them up super tight with wrenches. One popped out about 10 seconds after loading it, ending the dive. Third dive the next week, I wrapped it with A LOT of thread tape, snugged it up with wrenches again, was able to shoot 1 fish, second time loading one of them popped out and the wishbone somehow snagged my finger. I reached out to cressi in an email for some help (weeks ago), even offered to pay for better replacement parts, and no response. Now I put them back together, drilled a hole through it, and bolted them together with some electrical tape to hold the bolts in. It's working for now, but I know they are going to rip out soon and I can only use the first notch, which sucks. I need bands and a good wishbone for this gun!

Don't waste your time
This came with a rubber band that was too short to load. I complained to the seller and they sent a form letter that said it came that way from the manufacturer and there was nothing they could do. It was supposed to stretch as it was used more but I needed it to work when I got it for a trip. It was a waste of my time. I got form letters from the seller a few times...and their request for positive feedback...but NO HELP whatsoever. I returned it for a refund.

User Modification Required, the bolt adds an additional 5 inches
Says 30 inch but the bolt sticks out an extra half foot. Very accurate. I'm able to shoot sheepshead at the end of my visibility and spear iguanas from from 15 yards out (they are invasive in the keys). The line is tied is though the back of the bolt, not the tip which leads to problems mentioned below. It has a space for an extra band, and the barrel seems to take the force without bending. Sadly, for the price you pay, Cressi cut some pretty cheap corners. Throw away the line it comes with. It doesn't have a rubber band on the end, so it will probably snap the first time you miss any ways. The crimps they used to hold the line around the bolt got caught consistantly on the end of my barrel and ended up putting a huge slice in one of my bands. Tying the line led to the knot getting caught. I ended up just tying the knot on the out side of the barrel. No padding on the butt, at the end of a week of intense spearfishing my center chest was very bruised from constantly pushing the hard plastic against my middle ribs.

Spear broke free and went over drop off 3rd miss
Mad at the seller - read on.Accurate, well handling speargun. Was able to snag a couple of fish before something happened that caused me to dock a couple of stars. The gun comes with one spear and line preattached. the problem is that the spear has sufficient energy, even on the first notch, to damage or break free of the line if you miss into open water. On my 6th shot of firing on the first notch, I missed for the third time and felt an intense snap, and was startled as I realized my spear had gone through the loop in the line and out over a drop off. Upon posting on a forum asking if I had done something wrong, they had told me that without a shock cord to absorb the miss, the line breaking was bound to happen with the mono line the gun came with. Being new to the sport, I'm upset with the seller for selling as ready to go. Now I'm down $40-50 something for a new spear because I didnt know I needed a shock cord or a reel. I wouldnt have been so upset if they had stated in the description that one of these items was needed before use, but my trip and my wallet have suffered because of the description.Learn from this, buy a reel or bungee and re-rig the gun before use.

Good, but needs some additional mods
Okay, so this is a good fun and inexpensive. The bands are hard to pull and will need to be broken in. I would highly advise adding a shock absorber to the gun to help with line strength and stress to the crimps. I would advise upgrading the line and crimps to a 300# line. Otherwise, the gun is very good and can get fish. I got the 90 cm . You can sharpen the spear tip as needed . In all, you might need to add another $60 to the gun. Happy hunting and watch YouTube on how to add the shock absorber (it will save you a lot of frustration if you lose the spear due to line break) . You can also order longer bands if you can’t load the gun.

Great gun for ladies too
I just used my gun for the first time last weekend and it’s so much easier to reload than my Pathos. I’m a female so the band was too short for me to reach so I bought some longer bands for it. The bands are really easy to swap out too.

An excellent multipurpose spear gun
An excellent multipurpose spear gun. As is customary the out of the box bands are stiff but with the reduced barrel length it makes loading the gun manageable. I also have a 100cm version which was nearly impossible to load ( I am 5'10 180 lbs and in good shape) until the correct technique and some much stronger colleagues ( A former D1 football player and a college rugby star) were able to break in the bands. I did not have this problem with the 75cm version.I use this gun primarily during SCUBA artificial reef dives to collect all manner of things, it will easily help you gather all but the largest of common reef species. It is powerful and accurate.I would not suggest this gun for large game fish hunting (Cobia, Amberjack, Barracuda) unless you modified the spear shaft to one of a larger diameter.

and also was equipped with different shaft (not the stainless steel) complete disappointment. So much for Cressi quality control
1. The safety was broken. 2. The trigger was broken. 3. The line release pin was not working. 4. The speargun tube was damaged.I purchased also Cressi pneumatic speargun from other retailer - the same problem with the safety, and also was equipped with different shaft (not the stainless steel) complete disappointment. So much for Cressi quality control.
