New Wave u.go Plein Air | Anywhere Pochade Box, 6"x8"x1.18" Inches, Plein Air Easel, Painting Easel, Art Easel

Bought a medium size new wave u go pochade box, two attachable side panels, and their tripod, for a plein air painting workshop on the Maine coast. While not the cheapest, they proved easy to set up, compact, durable, and perfect for uneven terrain. These products were clearly designed by and made for artists of all abilities. Worth every penny. Outdoor or indoor, this equipment will be used. For years. Remarkable to find products that actually perform as promised.

I absolutely love it. The magnetic features are so strong I have no fear of it popping open during travel. I bought the glass pallette upgrade so I can't speak to the standard acrylic one's quality. My only complaint is that the box only has one finish option. I would have loved a walnut stain option.

Over the past month, I’ve been looking at what is available online and how it fits with what I need: something lightweight, compact, sturdy, well-made, with a large palette to mix paints or able to hold my large lightweight plastic Masterson, and also able to hold various size boards for oil painting. It also had to be able to connect to my dad’s sturdy old tripod because I did not want an art easel and wanted to carry something that my dad loved. I initially balked at the cost of this but decided to buy something when my makeshift pochade was too unstable and bulky. This is made in PA and I liked the idea of supporting local businesses that make products in the U.S.. Went outside yesterday to paint and I am completely thrilled with this setup. I can see myself going everywhere to paint outdoors with this, and often. Thanks so much, Blick for carrying this, and UGo for making it!

I would have preferred a grey palllet missing area instead of white . I know they sell that separately but why couldn’t it just be a choice ? Also I would want to easel itself to be grey all over the inside anyway . I prefer the Alla Prima Pochade because it has storage for wet paintings . I just don’t need one more thing to carry when going out to paint .

PERFECT for home studio! I know that it’s designed for plein air painting and I’m sure that it would work beautifully; but I purchased it for my home as I sit to paint! I also bought the extension for larger panels and the canvas support! Love the side table too!! Easy to take to workshops! I bought the large UGo!

I like modular systems so this is right for me. The company also offers adaptors on their website to use this pochade box with stretched canvas and they offer an extender to work with larger panels or canvases. Since New Wave offers great palettes, I swapped out the included white acrylic for their tempered grey glass one.The light weight is great. I opted for the larger size because it is only a pound heaver than the medium. Even so, the large pochade box is much lighter than guerrilla painter and boxes from other brands. When I add up the weight of everything including the New Wave UGO tripod, 2 add on trays, paints, panels etc. my day pack weighs less than 10 lbs. Victory!
