Shielding and grounding matters: worth it
I bought these cables both for my turntable, and for the short 1ft run from my DAC to tube headphone amplifier. In both cases I found an unmistakable improvement primarily in the noise floor and hum levels, most notably with the turntable (which makes sense), but it also surprisingly fixed the slight hum in my headphone amplifier. These aren’t small snake oil changes — it’s the presence of a hum, vs no hum.Does directionality matter? Maybe, maybe not. Grounding at one end definitely matters to prevent a 2nd ground path that could induce a ground loop hum, so that is very real. There might be a difference in what end that shield is grounded to, butI’m not sure what that difference is from an electrical perspective. It’s not impossible. But the attention paid to the grounding and shielding matters, and clearly makes a difference. The other aspects of the audio quality? It’s very difficult to discern and it’s all subjective, but I like the sound through the cables—it feels slightly more clear and easier to discern very small details, a little tighter and smoother in the bass. But those are subtle differences. It’s certainly high quality and shows no issues.Overall—we’re not talking about a $200 cable here. This is a totally reasonable investment for a great quality cable that can make a real difference to the sound, especially with low level signal sources (like turntables), or in high interference situations (like high voltage AC tube amps). Great build quality and connectors as well, as you’d expect. Totally worth it in my opinion.

Serious Shielding here
I'm not going to lie, this cable has exceeded my expectations, beyond my wildest dreams. I have a serious sound system at home, the price of which I'll keep to myself out of decency. What amazed me: I'm using a reel-to-reel deck with a direct head out.The magnetic heads' wires terminate in RCA connectors, which connect to a double-female RCA Viablue adapter. From there, I use an additional RCA cable to extend the connection to my head preamplifier's RCA input.I've tried numerous RCA cables—MRCU Pure Silver Phono, Atlas Phono, Supra RCA, to name a few. Despite this, I was constantly plagued by a hum that would come and go.The moment I switched to the World Best Cable RCA, the hum disappeared, and this result is 100% repeatable.Honestly, I didn't expect this, and I can confidently say that their shielding and noise reduction claims are no marketing gimmick. Plus, this was the most affordable option among all the contenders.Regarding sound quality:I haven't noticed any difference, but I’m using the 1-foot version, so with that length, I wouldn't expect any cable character to be audible. At the very least, it's not degrading the sound in any way. And it resolved an issue I didn't even think it could fix! This is clearly a well-constructed cable. Thank you for respecting audiophiles!

No need to spend more
I replaced a pair of highly regarded Blue Jeans Cable LC-1 cables with this cable. They say this cable requires some burn-in, but I’ll tell you that right out of the box it sounded great! I use it to connect my Marantz CD6007 to my Rega Amp. I noticed zero difference in sound quality between my LC-1 and these. Well constructed and they fit securely without applying a death grip (something I always try to avoid in cables). Highly recommend!PS: in case you’re wondering why I replaced the Blue Jeans Cable, it’s because I moved my equipment close together and needed a short (1 ft) run. The LC-1 cable is fantastic, but thick and not ideal in a confined setup.

Better than expected.
Cheap (stranded) RCA cables will mess up the phase of the signal being passed through them; what happens is that the current will flow along the path of least resistance, which in a cheap stranded cable will mean that the current 'jumps' between different gaps along the wires, thus destroying phase coherence of the signal. If you have a resolving system, what you'll notice with cables such as these is that the music will sound more natural, treble will sound smooth and not shrill, mids will be more resolving and more separated from treble and bass, and finally bass will be more extended along the actual frequency band captured during the recording, instead of being 'bunched up' in a few specific hotspots.Ordinarily I prefer solid-core conductors, for reasons mentioned above. Even though these Gotham cables are stranded, I'm pleased to say that these cables sound like much more expensive solid-core cables from Cardas or Audioquest. I won't say that these are good cables for the money, what I will say is that these are very good cables, period.
