Robert the Rose Horse

My favorite book from elementary school is now my go to for baby shower book giving.

I vaguely remembered a book from my childhood of a character that had huge sneezes that went KERCHOO! I love that book as a 7 year old. So I searched the internet and found it here! Just received it today and already read it to my little one (8 months old) . Everything came back to me.No wonder I liked it. It's a nice story of a character with a bit of a handicap that moves to the big city to find work. Even though his handicap keeps getting in the way, causing him to lose jobs, he works hard at each job and is grateful for the work. He finally secures a position with the police department and his handicap saves the day!And yes, police have guns because bad guys do too. This is the reality of the world we live in and to deny that is a recipe to socially handicap a child.

"Robert the Rose Horse" was one of my favorite books as a kid in the early/mid 70s.It's darling, funny, has great repetition of its jokes, and is just plain FUN to read dramatically with kids, who can learn to play along and quote the repeated parts in order to participate.I give this book to EVERY friend with little kids, and it seems that almost no one remembers it, which is too bad because it's a gem. I highly recommend it for kids age 2 1/2 or 3 up till 6 or 7 (whenever you stop reading together).It's a silly, fun fantasy, it has a fun, sweet story, and it's just plain entertaining. Definitely worth it!

My 4 year old daughter loved this story. I originally bought it for her to teach her about allergies since her dad has allergies to many plants and she was wondering about that. She also loves police so when I saw this horse becomes a Police Horse, I knew it would be a win-win. She loves the story, and overall it's an enjoyable read about a horse who is allergic to roses. Two small issues I would change if I was revising this book: 1) I would remove/reduce the guns from the bank robbery section (this is the first time my daughter ever saw guns and asked what they were), and 2) the horse is suddenly not allergic to roses at the end and that makes NO SENSE.

I remembered this book from when I was young and wanted my kids to also have it. Cute story about a horse whose sneezes cause havoc but then finally is able to save the day. Yes, the story has bad guys with guns and, really, I suppose the people here who have an issue with that are the same people who believed the little boy who bit his pop tart into the shape of a gun deserved his subsequent suspension and that his classmates really were traumatized.I think those people are crazy and can't imagine advocating this type of censorship (note they skip over the offending page or won't even read the book). Are pirate stories and adventure stories off limits too?I find those parents much more disturbing than the story.

Love the story it’s a great it’s a cute make believe story about a horse trying to fine a job that fits him.

This book has the look of Suess but it's illustrated by P.D. Eastman. There are more by this artist and they are lovely, too. My Mom read me this book when I was a child. In the '60s. LOL. I recently gained a new grand niece and nephew. I wanted to read to them, and some how this book popped into my head. I can't wait to share with them. It's not only a good story, it also come with a little fun action that makes the kids laugh. See, throughout the story, Robert the Rose Horse keeps sneezing because of his allergies. And everytime you come to this in the story, you look at the little one, who isn't able to read yet, and they contribute a great big sneeze. Cuddle time at it's best. I think my Mom would approve.

As a Kindergarten educator I was very excited to see the range of books that Amazon sell specifically Dr.Suess for fanastic price .

I used to read this book to my children and always wanted to buy it again for my grandchildren.I suddenly thought I would try finding it on Amazon and I have been able to buy it and share it with the girls.I have also been able to buy Dr. Seuss books for them.

Great store and explains hay fever to children

This is a great book and the one I remember most from my childhood. I bought it for my 3 year old and he loves it. I imagine it will be a great book when it comes to learning to read.
