One of the best rods I’ve ever owned
Very light weight but tough. Casts smoothly with little effort. Nice comfortable grip. Very well balanced. Perfect mid-size rod for regular lakeside or seaside fishing. Good action, ultra sensitive. This will be my ultimate go-to rod. It makes fishing feel easier than it should be, even when landing heavier fish. I’ll be purchasing another one in the near future.

Awesome rod
6’6” medium size. Amazing rod, no problems whatsoever. Casts great. Little bit on the softer side, but works great for average size bass and Mayan chiclid fishing. Hooked up with a huge needlenose gar, handled it great. Not the lightest rod, but well balanced with a Kastking royale legend 3000 reel and 12lb braid. Liked the red lacing just above the handle, great looking combo. Speaking of the handle, great quality cork. Used U40 cork sealant and holds up great.

High quality lightweight rod.
Please, for the love of God, put packing in the boxes. The rods eyelets bend. Mine wasn't in perfect condition but I easily bent the eyelets back. The action is a bit stiff, it casts pretty far even with light weights. I prefer the 2pc over 1 just because I like to keep my rods inside my truck and it fits better in 2. I am a life long customer of this company and I appreciate the value for the money with a quality rod. It's my first Elite series and first medium rod, we'll see how she works out.

Good overall rod minus the top guide issues.
I really liked this rod to begin with then that's when the problems started. After 12-15 uses of using this rod (I've only owned it for a month exactly today) the top rod guide begin to wear quickly and developed multiple grooves WHILE USING MONOFILAMENT. 8 LB Trilene XL to be exact. EDITED REVIEW. I replaced the rod tip and it's worked great and has handled many fish since then! Everything from largemouth, smallmouth, catfish, to walleye/saugeye. While I was disappointed by the tip the rod blank and other guides have been very solid. For the price this is very hard to beat. Pairs great with my Pflueger President size 3000. This review was updated 15 months after the initial issue and everything is still working great. I would buy more in the future.

Love this rod!
I do a lot of surf fishing and recently decided to get into inshore fishing, specifically bass. I purchased this rod on recommendation from a family member as a perfect beginner rod and so far I must agree. First thing I noticed when opening it up was how light this is, thought it would be brittle but it has a very nice flex to it. Took it out fishing at a local spot with a simple Texas rig and was surprised by how sensitive it is. I could feel when I was hitting a rock or weeds but most importantly I could feel the nibbles and bites. Sadly due to my over eagerness to snap the rod back I broke the line when I first got a bite. Overall after just a couple hours with this rod I am very pleased with it and would definitely recommend this from a beginners point of view.

Dependability, tough pole if used responsibly.
I read some pretty frightening reviews before purchasing this pole but decided to get it anyway. Man where thos reviews wrong. I followed the directions on proper line test according to what the pole is rated for and have had zero issues. Yes I've had line breakage due to not setting the drag properly but the pole held strong. It is essential to follow the manufacturer's directions with any product and you shouldn't have any issues. If you're gear is set up properly and stay within manufacturers recommendations your fishing experience should be an excellent experience. If I was to have any issues my next pole will be purchased from my nearest Basspro shop.

Excellent rod
It's Ugly Stick, it's every bit as good as claimed. If you get one, it'll soon become one of your favorite rods. This one was a present for my wife. After using it for 1 day she said it beats the other rigs we have. Unlike others that complained about shipping, this came in a Long STURDY box and arrived quickly. It's a good price for a great product.

The most sensitive rod I've ever fished with.
I've had a ugly stik gx2 for many years. I fished with many off-brands and they've been good rods as is the GX2. But the ugly stick elite 6.5 ft is the most sensitive and well-made rod that I've ever used. Even the lightest bites I can see the tugs of the fish playing with the bait. It does make a difference when you can see every little nibble. There are so many different models of the elite series that I'm certainly going to replace some of my other rods. I thought a medium rod was a medium rod but try this one and you'll see a difference as I did on the same trip, I tried the GX2 and the elite and the elite by far is a lot more sensitive. Durability will be as time will show. But with a 7-year warranty, I'm not worried about factory defects as I used it a lot on 6 days of fishing.

Can absolutely launch seabass lures considering it’s only 6 foot, as good today as the day I got it, not a scratch on it. Feels good looks awesome and you can feel the lures moving in the water, if I lost it I’d buy it again without hesitation. Easy to recommend. Get one.

I believe this is a great fishing rod, but unfortunately only the bottom half of the rod was delivered!!! So only half of this two piece rod was delivered, I’m very disappointed!!!

As an avid angler, finding the right fishing rod can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. The Ugly Stik Elite has quickly risen to the top of my list, and here’s why: Features: Graphite Content: This rod boasts an impressive 35% more graphite than its predecessor, the Ugly Stik GX2™, promising a lighter weight experience. Premium Cork Handles: Offers a comfortable grip, ensuring your hand doesn't tire, even after hours by the water. Ugly Tuff™ Guides: Specifically designed to enhance the rod's durability. Clear Tip® Design: The signature Ugly Stik feature that has won the trust of countless anglers. Pros: Weight Balance: The increased graphite content significantly reduces weight without compromising on the rod's strength. Durability: True to the Ugly Stik brand, this rod is virtually indestructible. The Ugly Tuff™ guides ensure longevity and can withstand rugged use. Sensitivity: The Clear Tip® design is not just for show; it genuinely improves bite detection, ensuring you never miss an opportunity. Cons: Price: While it offers fantastic value, some might find it a bit pricier than other options in the market. Aesthetics: The traditional "Ugly" design might not appeal to everyone, especially those looking for a sleeker look. Personal Experience: On a recent fishing trip, the Ugly Stik Elite truly shined. The lightweight design meant casting was a breeze, while the sensitivity of the Clear Tip® ensured I detected even the slightest nibble. The cork handle provided a comfortable grip throughout the day, making the entire experience enjoyable. If you’re on the hunt for a fishing rod that balances lightness, durability, and performance, the Ugly Stik Elite is your go-to choice. Infused with enhanced graphite content and boasting the trademark Clear Tip® design, it promises an unmatched angling experience.

I bought a 6'6" medium and it is a nice rod for most bass and medium size pike. I really like the tip section of this rod. It has just the right amount of flex for nice casts. The flex in the tip section helps in loading the rod for casting lighter lures but it still casts a heavy water logged rubber frog a ¼ mile. I use this rod with 6 & 10 lb mono line. I also own a 6'6" Med Light Berkely Lightning Rod and it is far stiffer than this Ugly Stik. This Ugly Stik is the better feeling rod. A bit more flex in the tip but still lots of backbone to pull in a large fish. NOTE: When you buy a Shakespeare Ugly Stik, check that the first guide lines up with the reel seat. I looked at these rods at a local retailer and 3 of 5 rods had the first guide so badly off alignment with the reel seat. Unreal! Otherwise...it's a top notch rod.
