So so
It's an ok series if you just want something quick to watch. I dont like the mom and all the kids, broken marriage theme, and they seem to race through their lines....not a fan

Not fast paced as desvribed!
Well acted drama but its more about family crisis than so-called "blue murder". This is based on the first series. Hope it improved as Im not freally impressed so far. Its so slow paced Im getting bored with it already.

Good acting
Fantastic series - very down-to-earth - I enjoyed every one of the episodes. A very favourable point was the very reasonable price. Hope that another series is produced soon.

Good British cop series
I was not really a fan of Caroline Quinten but I was pleasantly surprised by this excellent series. It only got better as it went along and I was sorry that it came to an end when it did. The interaction between all the characters was good and the home / work story balance was just right.

Worth catching
Didn't see this when it was on TV, but pleased to have caught up now. It looks a little dated at times (but then it is). As susual in TV detective series, the witnesses are busy and unhelpful and I am left wondering why the writers resort to this. In real life, people see murder as a big deal and wouldn't be saying to the police "Now, i've to get on with.." even if they're the murderer.

If the theme floats your boat then this is an outstanding example.
If the theme of Touch of Frost or Wycliffe are to your pleasure then Blue Murder is a very well acted and interesting (and fun, sometimes) watch.Perhaps a little too much of the family/human interaction - it could do with more of the policing side of things - but those scenes fit in quite nicely. They provide an outlet, a release, of the dramatic tensions of the 'hunt'.Oh.. and YES, Artur is RIGHT - you don't deal with bullies with time-out rooms and reading the school code... you belt them one.(Watch the series, you'll know what I talking about). If the theme does not work for you, this set will not change your mind. These DVD's are for people who already like this theme. For those of you who do like the drama-cop stories, this is a worthwhile purchase. Very entertaining.** check your discs - my first set had cracked discs (around the centre hole). Amazon replaced without any problems. **
