I bought this set mainly for the notched straight edge. The straight edge isn't straight. I pulled it out of the plastic sleeve that it came in and sighted down the notches and it was obvious that some of the straight edge surfaces were sticking up higher than others so I checked it out with my engineering straight edge and it is not straight on either edge. Do not waste your time buying this junk.

The notched straight edge is sharp around the notches and it scratches the fingerboard very easily. The file is worthless. the first half has random missing sections of the abrasive. The second half is a little bit better but it kinda socks too. It should be a precision tool.I wouldn't buy it if could have seen it before.

I have 4 different makes and model electric and acoustic! The neck guage isn't even close it's useless, want to make me happy send me one that fits normal size guitars. Doesn't even fit mini guitars. Went to my friend at his music store we couldn't find one guitar it fits. I want a correct one.MIKE

I normally don’t leave negative reviews, but I own 15 guitars and I swear this doesn’t fit any of them. This could very well be the worst online purchase I’ve ever made lol.

Nice double sided straight edge for your home setups, use it to set your neck flat, then level your frets nice and simple, works for both Fender and Gibson style guitars. So I can setup both my strat and my telecaster, as well as my Les Paul and 335

I should’ve read the reviews first! But really, how hard would it be to make one that works? The ruler doesn’t fit any of my three guitars (Gibson Les Paul, Breedlove acoustic and fender Strat) and like other reviewers I found the surface to be very sharp. The stone arrived broken in six pieces.

Opened the package and the first thing I saw was the grind stone was broken due to shipping. It had broken in half and crumbled into tiny pieces, totally unusable.The fret file is not well machined. One side is usable but it's for jumbo frets. The other side is for medium frets and must have been misplaced in the machine because instead of being round the machine basically chewed out an entire half of the file. It was not even and it would ruin your frets if you used it.Finally the straight edge was anything but. It was so warped I could fit my pinky through if I layed it on the table.If I could give zero stars I would.

So, I bought this kit for a bunch of guitar projects I'm working on and I would NOT recommend this to any one. Bought it for the straight edge with the notches cut out to check necks with and the notches are cut in the wrong places making it unusable. I had to put 1 star because I couldn't review without a star rating. They owe me a bunch of stars..

I read a number of negative reviews about this product but decided to give it a try nonetheless. I recently had the frets replaced on my strat and the luthier (I use the term lightly) completely botched the job making the guitar completely unplayable. While this kit is not a high end set of tools they worked as expected and allowed me to recover my strat neck to the point where the action is actually better than prior to the fret job. Very happy.
