Classic Rock Stories: The Stories Behind the Greatest Songs of All Time

Classic Rock survives today as a testament to a time when appeal for united social change existed in our country. It was inspiring for me to read how each of these artists contributed to this movement in the face of our politically polarized atmosphere today.

I bought this book to give to a friend as a Valentine's present, and now I am sorry I didn't buy myself a copy. The book if full of fabulous anecdotes from the writer's of the great rock songs. So many great songs are listed in the book, so there are interviews with many, many of the great songwriters from The Beatles, Cream, Traffic, Yes, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, the Eagles, Rod Stewart, Jethro Tull, etc. Very amusing and surprising tales about how they wrote the songs and what the inspirations were. Some songs were completely surprises when they became hits, some were thought by the songwriters to be awesome right away. Some great history here for lovers of Classic Rock.

Wow ,,, didn't know about how some of my record collection was composed ... I always am wondering what the motivation to some songs were and I got them ... It was interesting to read ,,, I read it in a day and a Half......

Very informative book. If you grew up in the 60's and 70's listening to the greatest music in the world, you will love this book.

Is not. There are so many typos that it's hard to even read. Go back in and edit this book, then post an update so those of us that bought it can enjoy the information collected here without having to stumble over misspellings, typos, and obvious errors that could have been avoided with a little time spent reading what you wrote before you published it. Writers, or anyone claiming to be a writer, owes the reading public material that has been edited. Sure, typos happen, but this book is full of them. It's glaring. These days, you can go back and edit and upload the book again. If you want to be taken seriously, please take care of this mess. Read the manuscript, make corrections, and upload again. This could have been a really cool book to have, but the lack of attention to detail and the endless chain of typos makes it hard to read and enjoy.

I bought this book as a Christmas present for my great nephew who loves music and particularly classic rock. He seemed very happy to receive it and everyone there was very interested in it as well. I don't think the book was sat down the entire time they were at my house.

Love this book. It is full of interesting trivia about information behind the scenes on songs.

Interesting book if you're curious about how songs came about from the '60s and up.

This was a complete waste of money.Stories of how the greatest rock songs were written?Often two or three to a page, many of the "we needed a new song so we went into the studio and just did it, man" type.Very boring, very samey and not worth the money, certainly nothing entertaining.I bought this as a deck book to read during the summer but you just can't read more than a few pages - don't waste you're time or money, nothing to read here.I gave it one star to get onto the system but it really rates a zero.Best avoided.
