1000% better than Celestron's plastic mount
I just rec'd this new tripod adapter, and immediately tried it out (just in case I had to immediately return it!). So far, it is excellent. There is no vibration between the tripod and the binoculars through the adapter. I shouldn't have to say this but, of course there will be vibration if you hit the tripod and/or push your face into the binoculars. Some reviewers have complained about the depth of the recess of the threading, or the rubber pad where the adapter mounts to the tripod plate. I'm using a Manfroto 3275 tripod head, and the plate's mounting screw went right in to the base of the adapter and secured just fine. As for the mounting screw that attaches to center of the binoculars, I find no problem with it. The threading was correct, length of the stud was fine, and they give you a nice thick rubber knurled thumb screw to tighten it with. Other reviewers had mentioned that this adapter was too thick or bulky to mount to the middle of the binoculars. I'm using Skymaster 15x70 binoculars, and there is plenty of room to spare on either side of the adapter-to-lens assembly. Maybe a very small pair of binoculars would have trouble mounting to the adapter, I'm not sure. As I said, this is my first impression review. I will update it with any comments, good or bad, if I notice anything that should be brought to a potential buyer's attention.

Works well, and very sturdy!
I purchased this binoculars tripod adapter for 12x50 binoculars I've had for a while. I didn't use them much because they're a bit difficult to hold steady, so I thought I'd try the tripod adapter. It works great; unlike other reviewers, I had no difficulty in attaining a solid fit at either the tripod or binocular connection. I appreciate how solid the metal is; it's definitely not going anywhere. If I upgrade to a better set of higher powered binoculars, it's nice to know this adapter will be usable then, too. Overall, a good product at the same price as some of its plastic competitors.

Had to Use a Tap on the Tripod Mounting Screw Threads, Otherwise Good Mount.
As others say, it’s a solid binocular mount. No issues with that. Pleased with the overall construction. My particular mount though, wouldn’t allow me to thread the tripod screw into the base. I had to use a 1/4 in x 20 count tap to fix the threads. Seemed to remove quite a bit of material in the process too. Afterwards, the tripod mounting screw threaded in as intended. Something to keep in mind if you have issues. Still definitely recommend this mount.

Celestron 15x70mm, needs a washer
The Celestron 15x70mm binoculars I got couple of days ago has a plastic mount that came with the package is significantly wobbly when you touch the binoculars with your face to view something and it makes it impossible. This helped a lot like other reviews said. Reduction is from a 15 sec wobble to 3 sec wobble after I tried this. Threading is a little longer so the binoculars will losely rotate around it. I happened to have a set of washers I purchased in bulk from Amazon a while ago so it was not a big deal and costly matter. At one point I was wondering if I should purchase a costly tripod instead of the $35 one but this is a far better solution with a metal mount to try for a while.

NEEDS LOCK WASHER.
"Frequently bought together" lists BARSKA binocular tripod adaptor. Yes, buy it when you buy the Celestron SkyMaster Giant 15x70 Binoculars, because the plastic adaptor that comes with the binoculars will function, but it wobbles so much, you will want a metal adaptor. I bought a FIZZ, it is okay too, no wiggle wobble.BUT! because of the smooth surfaces on the screw socket of the binoculars and the mating surface of the right-angle adaptor, plus the lack of torque you can put on the small thumb screws, WHEN YOU ATTACH YOUR CAMERA TO THE LEFT OCULAR, the mechanical connection slips, and the binoculars list to the left. You need a lock washer, and you need to carry pliers. A couple of recommended lock washers appear in the attached image, but I have not tried them yet.

This mount work great on large binoculars
I've been looking for a sturdy, easy to use, binocular mount for my large 80 x 20 astronomical binoculars and I've found it. This mount fits right on my camera tripod using the 1/4" screw mount as found on most tripods. This mount should also work well on standard size binoculars and smaller tripods. The mount screws onto the front of the binocular hinge and tightens down snuggly so that the binoculars don't rock side to side so much unlike other binocular mounts that rock too easily. Don't misunderstand, the binoculars will still swivel with this mount but not as easily. Using small binoculars should result in an even tighter lock down. Overall, I'm very pleased.

The Celestron adapter is made of plastic and wobbles when they have the binoculars attached to them making them almost useless.
A month or so ago I purchased a set of Celestron SkyMaster 15x70 astronomical binoculars. The binoculars come with a fairly flimsy tripod adapter so you can attach these4 large binoculars to a camera tripod to steady them when viewing. The Celestron adapter is made of plastic and wobbles when they have the binoculars attached to them making them almost useless. So after reading the reviews for the all metal Barska tripod adapter I placed my order for one and it arrived today. It is indeed all metal (except for the screw knob to attach it to the binoculars. For the price it seems to be very well made. It attached easily to my old tripod and was _much_ better than what came from Celestron. The larger knob was much easier to grasp and turn to attach the adapter to the binoculars and they held the binoculars steady without any wobble. What motion you do have, however, is the tilt (yaw) of the binoculars which is not a problem as it does allow you to angle them to suit your needs. I also attached it to my new monopod and it was perfect for what I wish to use it for. I am very happy with this purchase.

Perfect.
This is very sturdy and holds my binoculars to my tripod securely. It’s not fancy, but I don’t care about fancy. I needed something to get the job done, and this does it. It’s a great price, and it works like it should.
