Sharp bit/good quality.
The drill blade worked great! It arrived on time and cut through our quartz counter top with no problem.

Perfect hole through brick and wood joist!
This bit cut through brick like butter. I was sceptical about starting the bit without a pilot hole, but entering at an angle and turning the bit worked really well. The hole was smooth and perfect.

Great option for fire brick.
What a life saver. I was running 2" PVC exhaust piping for a high efficiency furnace conversion and the clients home has "firebrick" or a harder brick. Typically I use concrete hole saws from Menards that work fine, but they were no match for the brick. This bit cut it like butter and was way cheaper than other options. Even if it is a one time use throw away, still worth it. It took a minute to get the home started with our a pilot bit in the center, but I was able to hole the outside of the bit gently wearing a glove. Once it got started it wa easy from there. Once through the brick, I switched to a wood home saw to finish it off at the framing. Thank you!

Great bit for small projects
Bought this to drill about a dozen holes through some natural stone coping, 2.5" thick. I hole drilled out a template in a scrap section of 2x10 and used that to keep the bit from walking until it was started. It cut well and didn't seem to loose function. Good value for the money.

Absolute junk. Broke the shank with in 5 minutes.
Great customer service. I will say that.

Excellent
Excellent, old heavy concrete wall, drip water on it while drilling, worked perfectly. Draw your target and chisel around it, otherwise it will move around .

I love Drilax saws, but...
I have bought and used several Drilax hole saws, including a 5" diameter saw which I used to cut stone and mortar. They all worked extremely well and are a great value, so when I needed a 2 1/2" hole saw, I noticed that Drilax had a more expensive one, and given my favorable experiences with their other saws, I thought I'd spend the extra bucks on a better one. DON'T DO IT! Because these are masonry saws, they don't have a pilot bit, which makes them all a bit tricky to start. This problem is not too difficult to overcome with the smooth rim saws, but as I discovered with this pricier model, its segmented rim makes starting the cut extremely difficult. The saw just chatters all over the place because of the segmented rim, making it really difficult to get started where you want the cut. The less expensive sooth-rimmed models are much easier to use. If you're guiding the saw with a template, or using a drill press, this would be a great hole saw, but for hand-held use, forget it and buy the cheaper one! (I used it to cut stucco.)
