really like and recommend
I purchased this to replace it with the same that I had for 20 plus years. I did need an electrician to adapt it to 750. it comes from the factory set at 1400 . I have a very old house and not enough power to keep it with the factory setting. I really like this unit. The newer one seems a bit quieter. It heats the area quickly. I missed it when it broke. I set the thermostat on a lower setting and it will maintain it during the night. I do recommend it. No heat up time, starts right up

Use different screws if securing to wood inset
Our electrician suggested we install a toe kick heater over an integrated fan/heater as part of a basement bathroom renovation project due to the fan's location near a window. Fortunately, we were able to squeeze it under our vanity and it is still very nicely concealed. Our bathroom is pretty small, <70sqft, so we wanted one with an adjustable thermostat even though we still put the wall unit on a switch. We were worried it would run to hot. It doesn't! I wish it had even a little more power. With that said, it's probably fighting an overpowered exhaust fan and definitely still takes the chill off nicely. At first it was intermittently pretty noisy, which was really confusing to me. I didn't mind the noise level, but the pitch/scratchiness was not very pleasant. I figured out that this was the result of it being attached to the wood frame inset using metal screws and not wood screws. As soon as I replaced these with more solid wood screws, the noise not only improved with respect to tonal qualities but the heater also got noticeably quieter. I would absolutely buy this toe kick heater again. With better attachment screws, it's a solid choice.

So far so good up in New England!
We installed this during a bathroom renovation. I had an electrician wire it so can't comment on the wiring, but he had no complaints and did it rather quickly. As for the heater's function it is fairly quiet, just a low hum when in operation that is barely audible from 10 feet away. I had concerns about noise/rattling from reading other reviews but this was not my experience. So far have only used it in the spring a few times, but on low it was perfectly capable of adding some heat to our ~100 sqft bathroom, so I have no doubt that it will be able to keep up in winter on a higher setting. My plan is to just find a decent setting and leave the thermostat set there for the season. Although the thermostat does not have numbers, one can easily just set it at different levels and measure/feel the air temperature in the room to find a good setting. My one complaint about this unit is minor, and in regard to the cutout for placing this under the cabinet. As you can see from the image the top edge of the unit has no overlap with the cabinet fascia like the sides do. Therefore one must be EXACT when measuring and cutting in regard to this dimension, otherwise a gap will be visible.

Excellent replacement for existing kitchen heater
I already had an under cabinet heater in our kitchen and replaced it with this unit. Installation was easy and it functions well. One thing to note (and a very small thing) when you have the cover off to connect the wiring, I recommend giving the upper panel a little tweak. I had an annoying rattle that ended up being the large upper (sheet metal) panel that would resonate with a small "oil can" effect when the heater reached full temperature. Putting a small tweak in the top added just enough stress to the top to take out the rattle. Using the model with the internal thermostat allowed me to use the existing wiring without having to add a wall thermostat.

JUNK - DO NOT BUY - MAY BE DANGEROUS
Delivery was rapid, the unit was as advertised. It is a little noisy when engaged but seems to heat well - will see after the winter how it hold up[. 2017 update - This unit was always noisy and lasted 2 seasons - this year the unit no longer works as one of the wires which connects to the element had heated and was burned as the connector to the element seems to have melted. This is a piece of JUNK - DO NOT WASTE your money on this sub-standard unit which turns out to be dangerous as there is not reason for the connector to have burned except for being POOR QUALITY.

Effective but LOUD heater
It fits in the base of a cabinet and makes it so you always have a heater at the ready - or to take the extra chill off in the dead of winter.... but this thing is LOUD!! Like I replaced a loud space heater and even I am a bit taken back by just how loud it is. Kicks out good heat tho. Overall, not disappointed with it, just not impressed at all.

Straightforward to install but only if you have some basic electrical skills
The build quality is good but not great. I had to shim the motor assembly so the fan wouldn't rub against the bottom of the housing. Installation instructions were clear if you are familiar with basic wiring. Noise level is nominal for a bathroom fan.

Recommended - easy installation if you can do simple wiring even if you have to adjust the heater from the default as delivered 240V to 120V.
