Sturdy, Strong, and Simple to Use
I bought mine in late-March 2007, and have used it on a regular, weekly basis, ever since. It is strong, sturdy, and simple to use. I have found nothing to complain about, no shortcomings or defects; quite the opposite! I've used it with two digital point-and-shoot cameras (Canon A70 and A550), and there's been nary a wobble. It's easily adjustable along all three axes (height, direction, and elevation), with positive locking for each one. However... after 15 years the metal, swivel-ball mount has "worn" the spherical cavity in the plastic head -- a little, not a lot -- and the locking mechanism sometimes doesn't hold the ball tightly, so the position can shift. (but, after 15 years, I could buy another one, right?) So, I unreservedly recommend this tripod.

Good Buy
A nice little gadget, well worth the ~$25. Plenty sturdy enough for a Nikon d80 with 18-135 kit lens and anything lighter, which means I can use it with any of my cameras. Folds into a package the size and weight of a soda can, which makes it easy to take anywhere.Only minor drawback I can see is the mount, which can't be (at least easily) equipped with a quick-release - this means I have to take the shoe for my full-size tripod off before I use this one.

Great for my purpose
Using it to display a digital frame more prominently and it is stable enough to do it even though frame is far heavier than typical digital camera. I'm sure it would be very stable with all but large SLR cameras.

Great Little Tripod, Love It!
There is nothing I can say negative about this tripod. Love it for the macro pics and for when you just need a smaller tripod for ground pictures. It's sturdy and as long as you use common sense, regarding maximum weight and angles, you'll be fine. Travels well and is reliable so far.

Using for spotting scope
Bought this to replace the tripod that came with my Tasco 20-60 spotting scope. This little jewel from Vangard is fantastic - very strong and stable on the table at the range. Makes my spotting scope much more usable.

cheap construction
Attached a spotting scope to the tripod. The scope was inadvertently knocked over and the tripod connector to the scope sheared off. An examination of the metal showed it to be poor quality. The grain of the metal had the texture of sand. The one part of the tripod that had to support the weight of the scope and it was cheaply made. Won't buy another from this company.
