Impressed for the price.

Used this as a travel rod on a tuna trip. Brought in 5 bluefin 60-70lbs. The rod handled them very well.

Seems like a high quality rod, but braid gets caught on rollers.

I will re-post if I have any issues, but at the moment, the rod exceeds my expectations. The roller guides are beautifully attached and finished. Everything is straight and the rod shaft has a progressive bend. I'm using 80 lb. test line and a 70 size saltwater reel. I plan to wrap the mounting bracket on the reel to hold it in place better. The rod will handle a very large reel from what I can see. Mine is a tad small and slides right and left on the rod.One thing does concern me. When spooling the reel with line, I found that the 80' braid I'm using gets caught between the roller and the guide. I will see if I can tighten up the roller a bit to avoid this. Should it happen while pulling in the big one, I'm sure it would snap the line.

I hooked into an 8' tiger shark, My fault though. It handled really well for 45 minutes until it decided to go under the boat. That is what made it break.

Not impressed

The real didn’t fit right on the rod , it was off-center.I’m just not sure about the design either. The price was right and I might’ve kept it if the real was centered with the rod seat. I will not buy another one. I wish they made a one piece because I am particular and don’t like roller guides. The guides on this rod did appear to be of reasonable quality and that’s the best I can say about it.

Looks worth it

The 2 piece connection is amazing with a screw lock between the 2 pieces, can't wait to use it, if everything goes well I will order more...

Did not come with the bag

The product seems well built. I was going to take it offshore to the rig with me this last time but I didn't come with the protective bag. I am looking for a bag to carry it offshore with and will update the review once I have used it to go after some Tuna.
