Great Homemade Ice Cream—Just Needs a Bit of Patience
Great Homemade Ice Cream—Just Needs a Bit of Patience I’ve been using the Cuisinart 2 Qt Ice Cream Maker, and overall, it’s a solid machine. It’s super easy to use—just freeze the bowl ahead of time, pour in your mixture, and let it churn. In about 20–25 minutes, you’ve got smooth, delicious ice cream, sorbet, or frozen yogurt. The 2-quart size is perfect for families or entertaining, and clean-up is pretty straightforward. The only thing to note is you must freeze the bowl for at least 24 hours beforehand for the best results, so it’s not exactly spontaneous. Also, the motor can be a bit loud while running, but nothing too crazy. All in all, it’s a great buy if you love homemade ice cream and don’t mind a little prep time!

A great machine!
I had a Cuisinart ice cream maker (purchased in 2002) and it worked ok but I wasn't in love with it and used it rarely (I donated it when we moved three years ago). Recently, I decided to get another ice cream maker and looked at ones with compressors (Lello $700 and Whynter $300-$400) but for that kind of money how often and how many batches do I really plan on making? After reading the reviews, I decided on this $150 Cuisinart model. It fits nicely in my pantry but not sure why people complain about it being so noisy, it's what I'd expect. The directions for operating and cleaning are easy. Having a 2 qt. capacity is great if you want to throw in some add-in's (chocolate chips, fresh fruit, etc). It makes Ice Cream, Frozen Yogurt and Gelato. The on/off switch automatically sets the time depending on your choice but you can add or minus minutes if you choose. Once you are done with your first batch (30-45 minutes) the drum which remains quite cold, gets washed then back in the freezer it goes. It doesn't take but a few hours to re-freeze so if you want to make another batch you're good to go. Gelato is my favored frozen treat and it comes out so creamy. Btw - I recommend a cookbook "The Art of Making Gelato" by Morgan Morano. Both the Biscoff and Apple Pie gelato are amazing!!! One caveat; you will need a good digital scale that shows grams and ounces (Oxo is a good choice). I also recommend using a Tovolo container which is air-tight (as a precaution against ice crystals, I also place a piece of plastic directly on the surface of the gelato but that's just me). Unless you want the convenience of having a compressor I highly recommend this model for the price, ease of use and most importantly, the results!

Convince and quality
Was going to buy a ninja creami but saw so many mixed reviews about waiting 24 hrs and not a lot of product. This is wayyyyy better. I can make healthy ice cream (more of ice milk) with all the substitutes i need (lactose free, sugar free, etc) within minutes! Super easy to use, would highly recommend

Great Product! Works as stated...
As long as you follow the instructions, the product works great and you get very good soft-serve ice cream, ready to eat. See image and video taken at 1min before cycle is complete. Notice how it holds its form. Very creamy and ready to eat. I recommend the product. Bowl: Liquid between the walls must be frozen solid, no slushing sound or motion. Place bowl in the bottom of freezer (upright), may take 3 to 5 days to freeze depending on your freezer. The closer temp is to 0°C the faster it will freeze. My box freezer gets it done in 2 days (even with a whole bunch of other stuff in it). Sound: Starts of at bet 50db to 60db; towards the last 5 minutes increases to 70db to 80db (with cover and lid closed). Not silent, but worth the outcome. Adding Solids: Soft fruit bits should be okay. I used candied fruit bits (tutti-fruity) and it struggled a bit. Add solids cold and at the end of cycle. Also, keep liquid ice-cream mix in fridge overnight before use. Blade: This is where it loses a star. The blade is plastic and i am not sure it will survive frequent usage. The blade's two connections to the upper ring are .5" wide and a few mm thick. Easy to clean. Hand wash only. Capacity: 1 quart liquid mix gives 1.5 quart ice-cream. Starts to touch the lid when ready. Will try to get it to 2 quarts in next try and update.

Great ice cream maker.
We have had this ice cream maker for a week and made ice cream twice. It takes 20 minutes to churn a batch of ice cream. It comes out thick and fully ready to serve unlike our old machine of another brand which came out too soft to serve right away and had to be frozen for several hours after churning. So far, we haven't tried making gelato or sorbet in this machine. It would have been nice if the machine had come with a printed recipe booklet. Registering the ice cream maker with the manufacturer for the warranty was easy. Very happy with this ice cream maker.

It may be too early to write a review of this machine since I have only made one batch of ice cream but... 1. The ice cream was delicious. I had control over all the ingredients that went into the ice cream. The texture was amazing. I really prefer eating the ice cream right out of the machine instead of hardening it. It tastes amazing. 2. The machine worked well. I would prefer to have a machine that had a built-in freezing unit instead of having to put the bowl in the freezer but the cost of such machines are significantly higher. there have been comments about the noise it makes. It is on the loud side but it is not excessive. I do not know about its durability yet but it does the job and makes a fantastic product.

Comprei essa máquina para ter o prazer de tomar sorvete de creme 100% natural, ao meu gosto. No momento, é meu utencílio favorito.
