Quality - Quality - Qualty BUT...
I am buying up these cargo pants for casual wear and I have successfully purchased and retained two pairs of these pants. The quality is, without question, outstanding (surprising) from the reinforced seams, to the material, to the knee and seat integrated patches, to the attention to functional detail, to the selection in solid and camouflage patterns and colors, to the reinforced pockets, and to the double cargo (thigh and calf cargo pockets), and to the fit (when they fit). That said - I have found - that when I order the small size the pants are one to two inches larger than the maximum advertised size leaving the pant large about the waist AND corresponding large everywhere else. My solution was to return the pair and order another pair of the same size and "shazam" the sizing problem with the current pant was resolved. Having hit upon this (random) method I proceed to purchase other color/patterns of these pants using the same inane approach to getting a pant whose size corresponds to the advertised size. I have measured the pants that I have purchased and find that the maximum waist size can vary from the advertised maximum size to a size that can vary up to 2 and a fraction larger. It seems to be a quality control issue. I hasten to add the quality of this pant is such that the sizing can be resolved as described above. Now this is "my" issue, but having said that in reading other reviews of this pant there does appear to be an issue with sizing quality control. I live in a large city and have visited other Army/Navy outlets and this pant far exceeds the quality that I have found at these stores. I work at home and virtually live in these pants rotating among five pairs - I still have three pairs to (successfully) purchase to fully retire my current set of five "house pants". Returning pants that do not fit and are too large has not discouraged me from continuing with my (successful) purchase of three more pairs of these pants - should you have the same issue as myself don't be discouraged, you likely will not find a pant with this quality along as many dimensions as this pant. Clearly, I would not have burned the clock writing this review unless I felt that this pant is a "find". Enjoy.

Solid Pants for a great price. Size L is 35-39.
The sizing was correct for me. A large is size 35-39 around the waist. I wear a 36 normally so they fit perfectly. The pants have a solid, but comfortable feel to them. They seem very durable. The material is thick enough to not rip easily, yet light enough to not weigh you down or make you overly hot. I work in Afghanistan so this is very important to me. For the price you can't really go wrong with these.I bought a similar style in a store recently that costed $60 and they were nowhere near as durable as these.BTW, these are Rothco "Ultra Zone" brand pants. You can find them elsewhere on the web for around $27, so Amazon is a tad over-priced, but when you factor in the free shipping and the reliability of Amazon it evens out.All-around great buy.

Durable pants, holey pockets
I really like these pants, I've ordered them in desert camo, urban camo and black. They are very loose fitting making them easy to move in while still being light weight. I have pairs for job, and for normal wear. The material is a bit thin, but there is a double layer over the knees and over the years I've had them I've yet to wear a hole into the exterior of the pants. The numerous pockets are large enough to carry what you need which is especially useful for work if you have a lot of items you need to carry and frequently have access to. The roomy pockets make it easy to get to those items, but are deep enough for you not to lose items as you move about. The pockets on the legs and the back all have double buttons attached to a flap if need be to contain your items or if you are not using those pockets as well. All of the pants come in weird sizes, mainly because of how they are designed. There are synches on either side of the waist to secure your size, and the legs are intentionally made longer as they are designed to be tide off at the ankles and hang loosely around the top of your shoes. (You won't have an issue with walking on the hems so no worries). The reason I gave this 4/5 stars is because the front pockets are really thin, so it is easy to wear a hole in them compared to anywhere else on the pants. Over time if you frequently carry bulky items in them (like your keys) you'll wear the material thin enough that they begin to fall apart in the wash. I suppose this is a minor problem as really this has only happened to one pair of my work pants that I use pretty heavily, but as I bought these for their durability this is a fault in my opinion. The pants will shrink a bit, but it is only noticeable on the flaps that hang over the pockets. I haven't noticed any notable shrinkage around the hems where it is sewn together. The 3 sizes I know for sure are X-Small Regular (Waist 23"-27" US) Small Regular (Waist 27"-31" US) Medium Regular (31"-35"? US) as I can't read the last number on the tag for the Medium. Normally I wear a size 29-30 and so the Mediums I can still wear, but they are baggy at the waist except for when fully synched. I couldn't wear the X-Small at all, so for me the Small Regulars were the perfect fit. Keep in mind that length is always in excess anyway, so your correct waist size is going to match your length regardless of your height unless you are well above 6', in which case just get the long.Overall I like these pants and continue to buy them. They're durable, light, loose, and the camo designs are lasting. These work well for me. (The urban camo just looks awesome!)
