Grifiti Nootle D-Ring Mini Ball Head Works with iPad Tripod Mounts, Cameras, iPhone Holders, Brackets, Music Stands, and Photography Light Stands

This product was designed to screw onto a tripod; however, when I tried to screw it onto my tripod it didn't work. My tripod's screw is too long for this ball head, thus, it sat about 1/16 of an inch above the base of the tripod head when it was screwed down all the way. I decided to put a washer under it and that solved the first problem. Now, how to keep this in my camera bag without losing the washer. I decided to put the washer on the top of the ball head then screw a ¼ nut lightly onto the top thus holding the washer there until I need it.When I took the ball head off the first time the insert came out and stuck on the screw on my tripod. The threads are sharp and trying to get it off with my hands wasn't going to work so I took a clean rag and a pair of pliers, put the rag over the threads and then used the pliers to get the insert off. The threads were not damaged. Then I had to screw it back into the hole in the ball head. You must use a LARGE slot head screwdriver for this because a normal sized screwdriver will not fit across the two tiny slots cut in the insert to screw it back in. After all of that I finally got the ball head to work.My main complaint about using the product is the small knob that you have to tighten and un-tighten too move the ball head. I have arthritis and turning that small knob is hard. That is going to be a huge problem as time goes on. Hopefully I can find a work around for that.AD2

So far it does what I need it to do (supporting my iPhone on a monopod), while appearing to me to be of a better quality than other small ball heads in this price range (or at even double the price). Time will tell, however--if it starts to slip on me down the road, I'll be back to update this review.

This is a well-made, sturdy Nootle. I gave it three stars, because the insert pin that secures the ball was rounded, so that it could not secure the rotation. Luckily, I was able to use the pin from my older, broken Noodle, so it now works perfectly. I hope my piece was an exception, otherwise you will find yourself frustrated trying to keep your camera, or iPad (Pro, in my case) from moving involuntarily.

Excellent! I used this to attach a tablet gripper to a camera style tripod for a photo booth at a wedding. Surpassed the "stress test". I purchased two of these, one from another seller and this one, the other broke the day I received it from light testing. This one held up great all day and throught a few weddings so far.

Grifiti Nootle is such a quality product. I would recommend any of their products. Quality design and function. When I first opened the package and felt it in my hand, I could tell from the weight and sleekness that it was quality.

VERY WELL BUILT ITEM AND CERTAINLY DOES THE JOB. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE HEAD IS QUITE HEAVY. SO IF YOU NEED A LITE WEIGHT HEAD YOU NIGHT LOOK ELSEWHERE. ITYS STILL GREAT THOUGH.

solid ball head. I use it with gopro so maybe not with DSLR. I have not tried.

I purchased this to mount and level a GoPro to a platform I made. The base is nice and wide, providing good support when mounted to a flat base plate. Ball moves freely and locks securely with a nice sized knob. Very nice quality and heavier than I was expecting. I’m very pleased!

I bought this because it says its for a music stand . It doesn't fit a standard music stand thread . It's too small . So now i have to buy another stand to fit this . However it is very good quality .

I'd give it a 5* as a thing - it is beautifully engineered and very solid in the hand. Gets a 4* because I bought it accompany Grifiti Nootle iPad mini (fits 1,2) Tripod Mount. Beware - ball head is too small to rotate the iPad to vertical plane without fouling my tripod head(hence shown in images as prompt rather than as a video-cam). If you want to use for this you either need: different fixing, additional component or, as I have, a tripod wth a mounting head that tips. A longer neck above the ball would earn the fifth star.
