This stuff works! Patience and dedication are the key.
I have suffered with two heavily infected fungal toenails for almost 20 years (left little toe and the one next to it), that would spread to the surrounding skin causing recurring athlete's foot that I would treat, it would clear, and then come back, with the nails as the source of reinfection. The nails would become very thick and brittle, splitting right down the centre the whole length of the nail over the nail bed causing bleeding and pain. I tried products prescribed by the GP that you paint on and then file down after a week for a six month period. Didn't even touch the infection. I tried a range of other Excilor products. None of them worked, either. In pure desperation, I ended up buying this. The instructions say to use it for a month, but if you have a heavy infection, it is going to take MUCH longer. I have been using it for 8 months now, and one nail is clear: it went a bit strange and then completely came off. I kept treating the area, and it grew back healthy! I'm onto my second bottle (the original hadn't finished, but it becomes less effective and takes longer to dry with time). My little toenail split and fell off a couple of weeks ago. It takes ages to grow back, so I'm hoping it is going to come back healthy. I will keep treating until this bottle runs out. It is easy to use - have a shower, dry your feet, paint it on and let it dry. The following day, peel it off in the shower (it peels of very easily in warm water) and repeat the treatment. You MUST, however, remember to use it every day because this stuff is not fungicidal - it just stops it growing and the infection is displaced by new nail growth (unless the infected nail simply drops off like mine did). When you forget the treatment, the fungus will recover.

Worth the money. Sorry about my weird toes in the pictures.
About six weeks since purchasing - daily use. One toe is almost completely fungal free (but was much less infected). The other is greatly improved. You can see on the photo there’s only a small area left, and that whole nail was fungal and discoloured. I’ve tried all sorts over 10/11 years, different creams and even prescribed medication. This has been the only thing to have ever fully worked, and it’s so simple to apply. Just painting a toenail, no plasters, scraping, filing, or soaking the nail beforehand. Touch dry within minutes. Product itself has a medicinal smell to it and paints on white. You only need a thin layer. It’s a smallish bottle for the cost, but you don’t use much per application and it has a two year shelf life. Dries clear with a rubbery texture which feels like it might come off or is tacky. As long as it’s clear, it’s dry, not tacky, and won’t come off. I walk 17/18000 steps a day for work, and it doesn’t rub off on my socks. Isn’t too difficult to remove - after a shower or bath is definitely easier, but unnecessary. Rubbing hard along the cuticle with my thumb I’ve found will lift it, and then it peels straight off like a layer of film. It doesn’t irritate your skin if you do get it on, but it does make it harder to peel off. I wouldn’t leave it on skin though, just in case you have a reaction. I do it at night, before I settle down. Give it a good few minutes to properly dry before putting socks on or getting into bed. Good luck, hope you get decent results too. I’m going to continue to treat both toes at least until the bottle runs out. I’ll update if the results change.

Excilor ULTRA Extra Strong AntiFungal Nail Treatment Repair for Fingernails and Toenails
Excellent product, but can take as long as a new nail takes to grow, in my case more than 18 months for the big toe.

Not straightforward
I was so disappointed with this product. I used the regular version but this needed replacing so I decided to try the ‘Ultra’version.. I wish that I had taken more notice of the reviews. This product is extremely difficult to remove. It has to be done on a daily basis. It is suggested to do so after a shower/ bath. It does not roll off. You have to pick it off in bits - it ruins your finger nails. I tried soaking my feet in warm water for 10 minutes beforehand. It made no difference. I tried using nail varnish remover. Not many people have time to do this every morning. After 2 mornings of this regime and part of the product remaining on my nail I have given up. This was a costly experience! I’d really like my money back so I can buy their regular product or ‘Amorolfine’ which works and is much simpler to administer.

It's too soon to tell
I've only been using this a few days so I don't yet know how effective it is. If I remember, I'll update in a couple of months when I should have a lot more to say. Note that this stuff is easy to apply. It's like a watery white nail varnish. It smells sort of salty and minty, unpleasant but not terribly so. Once dry it's shiny, transparent, and a bit sticky - fluff from your socks will stick to it. It's a pain to get off, unless you do it straight after a bath or shower. It doesn't peel off in one nice piece, but lots of little bits. A nail file can be handy to help you peel it off. When I apply it, I paint it over the skin around the nail, which makes it a little easier to pull off. One last tip. There's no point killing off the fungus on your toe nails if you're then going to put your feet into shoes full of fungus. Buy an anti-fungal shoe spray, and spray your shoes or slippers every time you take them off. You can get the spray from Amazon. Fingers crossed all this faff is worth it, and my horrible toes return to normal... UPDATE It is MUCH easier to remove if you have just had a bath / shower, or you soak your feet in hot water for a couple of minutes. If you don't do this, it's a big faff scraping it off with a nail file. If you don't have time to do your toes straight after your shower, buy a cheap washing up bowl and soak your feet later when it's more convenient. UPDATE I have been using this stuff for 3 weeks now, and I can already see healthy nail growth at the cuticle! It's all pink and normal looking! It will take a long time for the nail to grow all the way out, so I'll keep using this stuff for ages, but I am really pleased that there are already signs of progress. Yey!
