How can I update this to play new blu rays? Samsung website does not recognize this model. And this is on a Mac Mini...

To clarify, you only needed an Internet connection for MacGo Mac Blu Ray Player software in an earlier version. I've been using the product for a couple years now to play blu-rays on my MacBook Pro, and there's no Internet connection required anymore for the current version of the software, only the earliest versions. a usb 2 cable is included but will connect to usb 3

Does this drive work with MacOSX ? In other words, does it come with a MacOS X device driver?

It doesn't need a device driver in my MacOS X 10.9.3.I can play blu-ray with "Mac Blu-ray player" application (Macgo software).

Does this allow you to play Blu rays on your computer?

It will if you already have software that can play blu-rays (most premium media players can). But if you have CyberLink Media Suite 10 that Windows 8 uses as its default player it won't work, and with the other free players for windows 8 it won't either. It will demand you upgrade the software which costs money. I don't know about the situation on Macs.
