A great spell checker!!
The Franklyn spelling ace is really nice. It's much bigger than the others. I purchased it for my Father-in -Law because his was too small & he had a hard time reading it. This one has a big read-out that you can see. The buttons are much bigger also. I liked the one I got him so much that I bought one myself. At first the buttons can be a little confusing. I've had to re-set mine 3 times. Now that I know what I'm doing it works great!! The one problem I see is that there is an = sign on the enter key & if you push that when you are looking up a word, it blanks out. You have to push it on the left side of the enter, not on the whole bar because it will go blank & it will have to be re-set. What I also really like is after you find the correct spelling it will tell you what the word means. It truly is a great little spell checker!!

Not easy to use
I am a special education teacher. I bought this to aid my students with their spelling. It is not that easy to use. It doesn't recognized a lot of misspelled words. Maybe the more advanced higher priced model would have been a better choice.

I needed this to use for my English final and it was easy to use. I bought mine used and it was in good condition.

My review
I already had one which I dropped and now it's not working properly so I ordered a reworked one. It was super in the beginning and then stopped working so I returned it and am getting a refund. I'm considering either trying another rework or getting a new one.

I bought this for my son and I had to learn how to use it before even giving it to him. I thought it would be different thing but it a nice piece and helps if they know how to at least spell some of the word. I use it more than he does too. But its like a pocket dictionary with alot of things extra.
