Lewisia 1.8W Solar Water Fountain Pump for Pool Koi Pond Pot Bird Bath Garden Decoration Solar Powered Submersible Water Pump Kit

Have used one of these for a bird fountain, basically a birdbath with a falling trickle of water, for two seasons now, and the little pump has performed beautifully well, especially considering the circumstances. We have very hard water, the algae builds up constantly, and somebody even made deep gouges in the solar panel with a weed whacker, but it still pumps well whenever there is sunshine on the panel. Granted the pump and other parts of the fountain require maintenance. When the algae is bad during warm sunny weather, once a week or so I clean the bath and brush down the pump outside and in the filter area with an old toothbrush, and rinse out the internal filter and the outer filter bag. The outer filter bag can get badly clogged with the algae so I bought some little organza bags and use them to replace the outer filter occasionally. The birds love the fountain, and we love watching them; the enjoyment is well worth a little pump maintenance, and the price is right for how long and well the pump works.

The media could not be loaded.  Every year I buy one or two solar pumps for my pond and or my patio pond pots, (generally they don't have a long life so I end up replacing them each summer). I have tried all kinds of small solar pumps and so far this is my favorite model. The pump worked the second the sun hit the solar panel and the fountain seemed stronger and higher than the other models I have purchased in the past. I really like that the solar panel has a steak on it with a long cord so you have much more flexibility in where you place your fountain. The solar panel can be placed in the garden or a flower pot and still stand above plants (the other models with just a panel tend to get knocked over or rearranged by raccoons). The swivel on the solar panel also allows for tilting of the panel to capture the most light. I set up the fountain shown in my attached photos and video to show how I set up this pond pot for my sister's garden. These photos were taken between 4:30 and 5:00 pm, when most solar panels have already quit for the day. I was so pleased to see it still working even in evening light (for those wondering, we used a piece of tubing to connect the solar pump to the bamboo fountain fixture).

I bought this originally about a year ago and that version/model worked great! It lasted the whole summer and fall up until about the following spring. I took it as, well maybe it was user error/breakage.Fast forward to about one month ago when I ordered a new one. Once again, it worked great at first, BUT this one has only last one month before fully dying on me. I have tried to unplug/plug back in, cleaned it thoroughly, and even tried different areas for the sun....but alas, it is dead.Not sure what to get now, but I recommend checking out other options before this one.

I used the solar water fountain pump for a fountain that had an electric pump, I wanted something I don’t have to remember to turn it off or on, when I open the box and connect it it turned on immediately, then I went outside and installed it in the fountain and it worked, later I went to check on it it wasn’t working and I thought it just not working and thought about returning it, the following day it was working cause it was sunny, I guess other reviewers were right when they said it works when the sun is out, it turns off when it’s cloudy or not too sunny, over all I am still happy with it, it doesn’t bother me when it turns off, this saves energy and I don’t have to worry about turning it on or off. Now I am looking into buying a floating solar fountain for the birdbath.

It was smaller than I thought it would be but, It is perfect for my small garden pond. My pond is just for looks and doesn’t have fish. I wanted something to add movement to the water so it didn’t become stagnant and something that looked pretty it is perfect for that.

The pump came very quickly, simple to set up and install. It doesn't seem very powerful, using in a fountain to replace an electric pump. I was hoping the battery would hold a charge after the sun moved from it, (I have solar lights that charge much better) but if it is not in FULL sun, will not work.

I knew it wasn’t going to last a lifetime, but it didn’t survive a day. It actually melted. Not sure if it was from the sun, heat or the motor but the nozzle warped, fused with the other piece and then stopped water flow. Before that, it was working ok. Preferred it to bubble rather than the tall, light sprays from the various nozzles but could have been stronger. The power cord would be longer or offer an extension so the solar panel has more flexibility for locations.

I bought an outdoor wishing well fountain on Amazon, and didn’t want to run a long extension cord to power, so this was an inexpensive alternative that works great. It has to pump water from a lower water container to a higher container, about two feet, and does so with no problem. It claims to pump up to four feet. It comes with multiple attachments and a long enough cord from the pump to the small solar panel that comes with a spike to attach to anywhere on the ground

Works well.

The media could not be loaded.  I purchased this for my balcony pond-in-a-pot and it works very well. Like other reviews have said, it runs only in full sun, otherwise when it is shaded or cloudy it 'pulses' small amounts of water, which is fine for me as I'm using it to break surface tension. I found it handy that the solar panel comes with two mounting options - it can either screw onto a surface for sun or be staked in the ground. The different head attachments to reduce the flow of water is useful as well as I need to reduce spray as my pot circumference is quite small; when the pump head is out of the water it goes up quite high and has a nice decorative arch.

Replaced original mini fountain pump with this and it works straight off without complications
