Very versatile set. Everything you need for camping or hunting.
These hatchets are incredibly well-made. Each is one big piece of solid metal. The Paracord rope around the hilt is a nice touch and they are secured very well. You can also use the Paracord if need be. If I’m going out in the wilderness, this is the set I'm bringing. You can hunt, clean fish, chop wood, and make a campfire. I'm especially impressed by the Paraknife 2.0 pro which includes a two-inch ruler, hex wrenches, and a bottle opener. The Parahatchet has a rope cutter in the back and there is a fire starter that you use with Paracord to make starting fires easier. The Paracord can also be used as sewing thread, for sutures, and fishing line. This set also comes with a firestarter, a whistle, and a sharpening stone. What impressed me most with this set is that they put a lot of thought into the pieces, making them more versatile than your standard set.

Good gift
It seems to be a nice starter set for those looking go get into bushcraft/camping. Everything is sturdy enough for the price, but unfortunately the hatchet has trouble cutting wood other than the type you wouldn’t even need a hatchet to snap in two. At least you can use the sharpener to get a little better cut. Overall, a good value.

Cool little set
Make no mistake - this is a cool little set. Having said that, the emphasis is on "little"...it's smaller than hoped. Not so small as to be a toy but smaller than anticipated. Quality is decent especially considering how many items are included in this kit. Smart design, each handle is corded and each tool is multi-functional creating quite a decent capacity in an easy to carry grouping. Small enough to pack along when camping or hiking yet solid enough to get a bit of work done if needed. Would also make an ideal gift or starter set for a youngster just putting together their own set.

Sub Par
So, What do we have here..... a nice little emergency/camping kit, well.... nice idea anyway, in truth these tools are on the side of things sub par, & I would not seriously consider this kit for use in it's intended purposes.I am experienced & educated in these camping/survival matters & there is nothing useful to see here folks.... 3 stars is in fact a generous rating IMOThe only item in this kit that kind of tickles my fancy is the little hatchet because it looks as though it may be fun to throw. The fire starting cord & striker are a joke..... believe me I tried it & it's a good thing there is a whistle on the other end because after you fail to get that fire started you can blow on that whistle for help.... but that is not likely to do you much good at all either because even that is sub par... no it does not have a whistle/sound that is very loud nor will it carry very far.Pro tip - include lighters in your camping/emergency kit for pete's sake! lots of them :)And that tiny little knife lol .... but to be kind, it IS very sharp.... in fact all the blades are sharp, BUT this is not the best steel in the world [once again, being kind here] whatever usefulness they could provide would be for a limited time only IMOYes, they do have a few usefull looking features on the blades such as the bottle opener & the skinning hook on the hatchet & so on..... but little gimmicks are not what is going to get you through the day in camping/survival scenarios ... they may be better than nothing of course, but you can do much better for yourself by buying your kit piece by piece .... it will cost more of course but it is worth it as you will have quality gear that will actually serve you well for years to come, remember....you get what you pay for, sometimes less & rarely more :)3 stars - these are nothing more than gimmicky, somewhat dangerous toys that you would be lucky to find a good/productive use for.

Nice Set
This is a nice, basic set of survival tools. They all have paracord handles (underneath is just metal). Things needed to be sharpened a bit, but that is usually the case.

From a Boy Scout who is finishing his Eagle
I looked this over and then turned it over to a Boy Scout who is expert at camping, knots, making fires etc. He ran this set through the mill and gave me this reviewThe Para knife 4.0 pro:· The knife out of the box wasn't very sharp, but it seems sturdy in construction (considering its a solid piece of steel) The para cord wrap was tight and it doesn’t feel like it will come lose any time soon. The knife is a decent size, though the serrations take away From some of the blade space. The sheath seems sturdy and has worked well although I’m not sure how long the thin nylon will last. I have however, been able to pull the knife out of the sheath with no effort while it should be locked in. All in all this is a decent knife but you might need to sharpen it before you can use it.The Para knife 2.0 pro:· This is a nice small knife, it came very sharp and wouldn't take much to touch up the blade. As with the 4.0 knife the 2.0 doesn't say what the steel is, so be prepared for some uncertainty. The sheath for this one feels more sturdy than the other one and has worked well. This one does not pull out of the sheath when locked in. The saw blade on the back of the knife is sharp and works well. All in all, a good knife I can definitely see myself using.Para Hatchet pro· A nice, well balanced hatchet, came razor sharp. Tight para cord wrap similar to the 4.0 para knife. The sheath is very sturdy, so sturdy in fact that it can be a struggle to put it in and take it out. All in all, a good hatchet.Para tinder and fire starter/whistle· The tinder lit easily and the flame lasted awhile, no complaints here. The fire starter worked as you would expect, same for the whistle.Sharpening stone:· The sharpening stone is very small and came with a few raised edges that could ruin a blade. Isn't a bad choice if you have nothing else on hand though, just be careful.I rate this Woodlands Tool Set a 3.5 out of 5
