RealTruck Nerf Steps for 4Runner | Wheel-to-Wheel, Heavy Duty Steel, Textured Black | T1464R | Fits 2010 - 2024 Toyota 4 Runner Does not fit Limited, TRD Sport, Nightshade and 10-13 SR5 Models

Ordered these Nerf bars for my 2016 4Runner SR5. The product arrived well in advance of expected delivery date & in a sturdy N-Fab box. Inside, the contents were wrapped well & had no damage or scuffs on them. Product came with simple instructions & all necessary nuts/bolts/washers (picture #3). They are flat (matte) black, not glossy & do not have the N-Fab sticker on them as pictured. The N-Fab name/logo is etched into the steps (picture #4). I read several reviews before making my purchase & sure enough, the instructions incorrectly say that the "bent flange is at the rear of the vehicle" when actually, the bent flange should be at the front of the vehicle. Keep in mind that although the brackets have 6 holes total, you will only be using 5 of them (2 in the rear, 2 in the middle & 1 in the front - as seen in pictures #6 & #7). The instructions tell you this in Step #4. I installed these by myself & it took me roughly 30 minutes. As I was laying down, I held the bar up in one place while using my knee to hold it steady in another as I hand-tightened the bolts in the center bracket & so on. I used a 12mm socket to remove the factory bolts but had to use a 1/2" socket for the bolts included in the package. The overall quality of these bars are very good & solid. I like the fact that no drilling is required & yet they still feel very sturdy as I stood on them. Gives my 4Runner more appeal & helps with my wife & son getting in/out of the vehicle. Great step bar. Fits my 2016 4Runner perfectly and looks great, in my opinion. The description is correct so this item is not exactly as depicted by the stock photo. When I purchased the photo showed a gloss finish with a sticker. The finish is a textured mat black and there is no sticker. The finish appears to a material similar to spray-in bed-liner, although certainly not as thick as some spray-in liners. Installation took about 25 minutes with a ratchet and two sockets. The slotted holes lined up perfectly and allow for about 1 inch of travel front to back. The bars are sturdy but not overly heavy so if you do what the manufacturer suggests and start with the middle bracket, installation will be a breeze. For me these step bars are perfect because the step is closer to the front of the door which allows me to climb in easier without the step getting in the way when I exit (when I don't use the step). Note: The instructions reference the Toyota Tacoma but they were spot on for installation on my 4Runner. I'm finding that a lot of parts are interchangeable which makes sense, but it did throw me for a loop when I first noticed the heading.

Slightly different than pictures and the product length is different than specified which actually worked in my favor for installation. Amazon description was not quite accurate but again very pleased with what arrived . Super easy install and mounting with provided bolts which aligned perfectly with the factory holes on my 2023 4Runner off-road . Looks great and very solid. Went with the 3” nerf steps which look and work great . Powdercoat was 99% good. A couple spots on the brackets needed a bit of touch up but otherwise arrived in perfect condition shipping box and product protection were on point .

First off - I don't ever leave reviews and wouldn't be leaving a review if this wasn't the 3rd set of these that we have bought. The first ones came extremely scratched up, had to return them, and then they got us a set that only had one small scratch. Instead of returning those we just said oh well and put them on our 4Runner. Now we just ordered another additional set for our other 4Runner (these are the ones pictured) and those showed up scratched as well, so now we get to return those and hope that the next set they send us isn't scratched too bad. We like the look of these steps and of course the price, but the company selling them needs to stop sending out steps that are already scratched. The packaging each time has always looked good and you can tell that they were scratched before they were packaged up and sent out. My guess is that they're getting these returned due to scratches and instead of doing the right thing, they're sending them back out to the next buyer for them to deal with. Pretty annoying to have to deal with repackaging them, returning them, and then waiting on the new ones to show up...would be nice if the company selling them did a little bit of quality control or if NFab put a better/stronger finish on them from the beginning.

Ordered these as I needed a set of steps installed for my pregnant wife. Overall quality seems fine; they feel sturdy and work for their intended purpose. I knocked off a star though as they did not come with installation instructions or extra hardware (new bolts/washers). These are easy enough to install without guidance and you can use the factory bolts to secure them, but if you are selling a product like this, I would expect something extra in the package. Additionally, one of the covers at the end of the tube was popped off and due to the nature of it, I was unable to get it back on. I am hoping that it doesn't really matter and is just more of a small annoyance, but NFAB really needs to work on their quality control. Otherwise, these look fine on my TRD Off-Road. They provide the function that I need without sticking out too far. Pricing seems on par with most of nerf bar sets, minus the aforementioned missing/broken items. Installation only took me about 20 minutes. I was able to get it done myself with moderate upper body strength to hold the bar in place while I got the first bolt on, but you may need a second pair of hands or a jack if you are having trouble. Make sure you have a 12mm socket and maybe a flashlight, then you are good to go (no lift required). NOTE: the bars have 3 mounting points, with 2 holes each for the bolts. The middle and rear are fine, but the front mounting only allows for a single bolt, as the second one is out of reach on the frame. It doesn't seem like this creates any safety problems, but just be aware that there is 1 bolt on either side that you will not be able to get on.

Shipment was fast during C-19 times and packaging was excellent. I was really impressed by the uber thick cardboard boxes - no way could this arrive damaged or dinged. install was super duper easy. 12mm socket to remove the OEM bolts and a 13mm socket to put the new ones provided back on. You can not re-use the OEM ones as the shank is a bit short. Upon install I am not sure why Toyota only has 1 bolt on the front mount where as all the others have 2 bolts. I have not tested this for sturdiness but I assume it will hold hold up to the weight of a large person standing on it. The weak point is the mount at where it bolts on. The 3" bar is very thick and I'm glad I went this route, less gap to the rockers and looks more beefy. Would I trust these as sliders - nope. the mounts are meant for forces coming down, one bump up and I can see the bar bending very quickly towards the cab. The 3" bar itself looks sturdy, but again the mounts would bend inward. any real sliders would mount to the frame itself.

They look amazing, function great, and are super easy to install. The most difficult part for me (which is likely because I'm just dumb) was mounting the brackets to the main rail itself as the instructions aren't super detailed on that task and they do come detached. Once that was done, Installing the bars to the truck only took about 15 minutes! Super easy. For a 2016 TRD Pro 4runner (pictured), a likely similar models, you'll have an extra bolt on each side, as the truck frame at the front of the vehicle doesn't have the mounting holes aligned at that spot. Nonetheless, the rails are very solid, stable, and supportive with the rest attached properly. Again, super easy overall! They look & function great!!

I researched a lot of options for this product. I considered everything from $100 running boards to $1000 rock sliders. There might be a time in the future where I trade these out for rock sliders, but I do not foresee myself taking my brand new 4runner rock crawling anytime soon, so this decision was based on appearance and giving my children a step. I also did not want to wait the 8 to 10 wk lead times of some of the other products. These came with 2-day prime shipping and were packed extremely well. I chose the 3" tube vs. the 2" because I prefer the lesser gap between the bar and frame. I am very happy with the choice. They do not look disproportional and fit tight against the vehicle. Installation took 20 minutes with no assistance. This was definitely the right choice for me, and I could not be more satisfied.
