Listen, I am 6'3. Most Yoga mats are quite a bit shorter than my body which means that I'm hanging off the edges during Cobra or locust, or even Plank. I can use this Mat and not have to worry about sweat pooling on my floor or having to chose what part of my body is gonna hang off the edge.The cork surface has a good texture so it’s easy to get a grip(no sliding feet or hands). I had a different cork mat before this and the cork surface was too finely processed, so it was very smooth. I found it easier to grip when wet, but I would slide when it was dry. This Mat has a more pronounced texture so it’s much easier to stay in place.The padding is also great! I had surgery on my knee so I really need it. Other thicker mats have always been really spongy so it was really hard to do balancing poses. This padding is thick but firm, giving me the relief I need without compromising my stance.

My first impression after unboxing my new Body by Yoga Mat was love at first sight! I have been practicing Yoga off and on for about 5 years now, and lately I have been practicing a lot more. I have been taking about 2-3 hot yoga classes a week lately and while my old Lululemon non-slip mat was holding up great the sweat stains were starting to get out of control and slightly embarrassing (I sweat more than the average person). I thought about getting another Lululemon mat since I loved it so much, but maybe in a darker more inconspicuous color. After researching I stumbled upon Cork Mats and was intrigued so I decided to go with Body by Yoga because they had the best reviews on Amazon. This mat is heavy and if you are switching from a traditional “TJ Maxx” style yoga mat then this will be a shock for you. My LuLu mat was kind of on the heavy side so this BBY mat being slightly heavier isn’t an issue for me. Being that this mat is also significantly larger than my previous mat I will have to purchase a larger more durable mat strap. There was no smell to the mat so I was excited by that. I tried a couple of poses on the mat at home and there was a bit of slip but in class I spritzed my mat with water beforehand and was good to go with not one slip. Like I said I sweat a ton during hot yoga but none of it was visible on this mat which adds a level of comfort that I never knew I wanted nor needed until now. The alignment lines are one of a kind and even after 5 years of yoga I find that I constantly have to check my alignment and posture throughout my practice, but the lines make it much easier. This is EXACTLY what I've been searching for! I've wanted a cork mat for years but I've always hesitated. I could kick myself for waiting so long because this mat is GREAT! It helps that the mat is extra large because I'm a taller dude and my feet would always come off my other mats when I lay prone. That's no longer a problem because I've got plenty of room. The thickness of this mat is another bonus because I need the extra cushion for my knees but this thickness doesn't interfere with my balancing poses. If You sweat buckets, like I do, YOU WILL NOT SLIP!!! This mat is a welcome addition to my Body By Yoga collection. I'm glad I was able to get my hands on this mat...NO REGRETS!!!

This Body By Yoga mat is my favorite of the four mats I have. It’s longer, thicker, and wider than the others giving me more space to get into position and stay there comfortably.In addition to yoga I’m also a runner and have a regular regimen of weight training and use the mat for pre and post workout stretching and cool down.The cork keeps me from slipping and easy to wipe off. I wasn’t sure about the guidelines on the surface at first, but now realize their benefit. The lines helped me realize I’ve not always been optimally positioned to take advantage of the pose....the lines help my orientation for max benefit, especially when switching from one side to the other. I naturally favor one side over the other, so this helps me stay balanced.I like this mat so much I bought another as a gift to share the experience.Highly recommend this mat. Great value.

I've had the mat for just over a month now and have been using it every day. Wanted to give it a bit of use before leaving a review. Intial impressions are great. It's nicely packaged. Unsurprisingly, it smells strongly of cork but this smell has since faded. I'm new to yoga and my initial mat was bought from TK Maxx. No frills. I'm 6 foot and 14 stone and the extra size offered by this mat was what interested me. The posture alignment lines are handy enough and there are materials made available by the manufacturer to help get the best out of these. You can see from the pictures just how much thicker and longer this mat is compared to my old one. This is why I bought the mat. Cleaning and care instructions are offered by the manufacturer and I'm hopeful that this mat will prove a worthwhile investment.

I hesitated paying this much for a yoga mat, but the moment I took it out of the box, I could tell it was worth every penny. This is not a yoga mat, it is a yoga yacht. Nice heft (this isn’t a travel mat), probably best for home use, though you could lug it to class. Generous proportions, it helped me redefine my yoga space. Firm but cushioned, very stable and comfortable whether you’re balancing on one leg or laying across your knee. The lines make transitions a breeze and inspire you to go deeper and rediscover the poses. The right balance of grip and slip, no need to manage messy towels regardless the temperature and humidity level. Smells good too. After a long period of sloth, I’m motivated to recommit to my practice simply by wanting to spend time on this mat.

Having brought standard foam mats up to now this mat was a revelation. The sturdy cork and rubber based mat is very comfortable to use and be on. The extra size really helps you stay fully on the mat and the cork provides a firm nonslip surface. But it's the markings which will take your poses to a new level. On normal mats you can do warrior pose and think you are ok but having the markings to guide positions and help line up meant I really felt the full benefit. There is online links from the supplier to videos to help show how to use the markings to help you maintain the correct position. If you have attended yoga class you will know the difference when a teacher has corrected a position. This mat and it's built in guidance gives that discipline to my training at home and I know I get far more out of the routine I do at home than I ever did using a foam mat. It's also very comfortable just to lie on after and relax. Recommended

Purchased this and within two sessions noticed a big difference in how the grip and lines, provided on the mat, have helped me to develop better poses. Yoga programmes, that I have previously done, I have found that with the new mat have improved my participation and I am getting more from them as a result. Certainly worth the additional cost in comparison to cheaper substandard mats. Would definitely recommend to anyone serious about yoga.

I was quite dubious about buying this mat at first. It’s quite a thick mat but being 6 foot 3 I couldn’t find many mats that I could actually fit on. But with the 9 month satisfaction guarantee I thought I would give this a go.Yes it is a little bit heavier than your usual yoga mat but this product is amazing. The grip underneath is immense and it’s cushions you comfortably without you feeling like you have sunk into it. Will definitely be telling my friends about this.The free videos that you get access to are really helpful and insightful. Do not regret this purchase at all. It’s the best mat I’ve ever used!

Bought this to replace an old cork yoga mat that I bought years ago from a different company as I liked the non-stretch, non-slip nature of cork matting. The BBY Cork mat is definitely way better and takes cork yoga mats to another level. It is wider, longer and has more cushioning (see photos). The slightly textured surface gives a better grip than smooth cork and is easy to clean if you follow the instructions.

This is quite simply the best yoga mat that I've ever laid my creaky knees on. OK, it's a bit more expensive than some other options, but considering the amount of time you could be rolling around on this then it seems a reasonable price to pay. It's firm, but soft, long and wide, and reassuring thick. Yes, I'm still talking about the Yoga mat. Very happy with this purchase.
