I have used this reel for over a year and a half now. I waited on the review bc as good as it works it couldn't hold up at this price right? 100% wrong. This is the easiest casting reel I own and I have over 20. By far the cheapest too. You can cast a 2 ounce weight and bait with this reel, reel it in and put an 8 oz weight with bait on it and cast it as hard as you can without making adjustments. I have $200+ reels that has to be re-adjusted every time you change bait. Some of my high end reels cast further but the ming yang casting distance is comparable to my ambassadeur 6500 catfish specials so definitely can't complain there. Drag and handling big fish is no issue either I have caught 30 or more catfish over 20lbs and 5 over 40, biggest being 64. It's not quite as smooth and the finish isn't the same as some of my reels but it's 1/4 the price and perfoms better than some of them. It's easily more durable and smoother drag than any $120 reel I have owned. Go ahead and buy 2, you won't regret it.

I took a chance on this reel after seeing some Youtube videos on it and it is a very good reel. Has strong power, no slop in the gears, and gets the job done. Only complain (hence the 4 stars) is that the clicker is very quiet. The clicker is the feature I wanted the most, but it's just not that loud, but it still works well. Go for it if you're considering buying it.

Absolutely love these reels. Bought 2 for my rippin lips 7,6 M/H super cats and what a great combo. I now have a third cl60 on a rippin lips. Best big cat reel on the market imo . Took a month to come in but well worth the wait. Dry land casting with with 30lb suffix 4 oz weight and no backlash got 79 yds. Super loud clicker in process of getting 4th reel to go on my final 4th rippin lips. This combo is a Beast. Very satisfied with them. I have 6 now for 3 years love em

Performance was great. Casting was smooth, great distance, retrieved with no problem.

I can't believe that these reels are under $100...I have owned tons of abu's and they are great but these reels are in the same class...I think the abu's look nicer but these mingyang's have a great drag and are silky smooth...I greased and oiled mine straight out of the box and they really are as smooth as $150 reels...The best $50 I have ever spent...Try one.
