Quality product with a Lifetime guarantee
Thirteen years ago I bought my first Fiskars lopper. After years of hard usage, the cutting blade broke. Not expecting any positive result, I nevertheless emailed Fiskars customer service explaining the problem and sending a photo of the product and the broken blade. Much to my surprise, Fiskars cheerfully and rapidly mailed me a new cutting blade at no charge. I installed the new blade and my thirteen year old lopper is good as new. When Fiskars says “Lifetime guarantee”, they mean it.

Adaptability if in confined or an open space locations. I wanted that versatility when doing outside pruning.

Heavy
These are much heavier than the older composite handles. Great lifetime warranty though. Fiskars really does stand behind their products.

Lifetime warranty?
I bought fiskars loppers because of the lifetime warranty, but after a year of using them they broke. I got in touch with fiskars and was told to send them to back to them ( at my expense) and they will determine if it’s a warranty issue. BEWARE IF THEY BREAK BECAUSE THEIR WARRANTY IS MISLEADING.

Poorly engineered
Here is my issue. If you want to extend the handles to reach out, I have to spread the handles REALLY far apart to open the cutting blades far enough to cut anything of substance. If the lopper blades pivoted at a different point, the cutter would open farther with less effort. Also, when my arms are spread to maximum, I have little to no power available to cut.

Blade chipped in first 5 minutes
I was cutting branches from a maple that was just cut down, they were still green and not even close to the max size of 1 3/4" the company says these are good for. When it chipped I could feel the metal crunching through the handles.More made in China garbage, what did I expect buying from a big chain store. Every store around me this brand is all they carry now. My previous lopper from a different company lasted at least 7 years but I'm not even going to mention them because they've gone down in quality too. Everything is disposable now - they expect you to buy new tools daily.
