Are all of the slots horizontal, or are there any vertical?

All slots are horizontal, 2 per page so you are looking at 4 horizontal pictures when you open it.

Can you slide more than one photo into each slot? If yes, how many fit without tearing the slot and being able to easily insert and remove photos?

There are 4 slots per page, 2 front and 2 back, photo size 4x6. To answer your question it will depend how small your photos are. I put one per slot sized 4x6

What’s the difference between albums and the album + sky blue? I don’t get it

Albums refers to just one album, the other includes 2 albums. One baby album plus the sky blue album.

How did you create the front cover photos?

Find photos that will fit the openings and tape them to the white sheet in the appropriate places. Slide down into the front cover
