Q: Does anyone know how to remove the funky smell?

I don't smell anything funky. I put my nose into the brush and smelled a bit of a bad smell but nothing major and nothing that would stop me from buying it again. Some baby powder would probably fix the smell. But like I said there is no major bad odor. At least not on the one I received.

Q: Why there will be ~$10 shipping fee during check-out although its introduction says "free shipping"?

No white goat hair bristles. Fully syntheyic. Serves perfect at its purpose :)

Hello, I made the mistake of not checking the size of this brush. It is 6-7 inches long and too large to use as a make up brush. It is more like a barbers brush to get the hair off of a persons neck. Did not send it back because the shipping price was not worth the trouble. The bristles are soft, but since I have not used it, can't say if they shed. G
