As far as antennas for handies go this is a big improvement over shorter aerials. At present time the repeater on vhf to me is not operating, I have no way to be sure of the improvement! With the stock antenna, my local radio station is only a hiss on fm but with it extended up all the way, it is fully quieting- there's no hiss! Outstanding! As long as it doesnt fall over and get broken it should be good for the more distant stations! Recommended- yes definitely.

Fits my baofeng uv5r fine. Definitely get better reception when receiving incoming signals and when I listen to FM radio. The aerial feels a bit cheap but hoping it lasts a long time if I'm mindful of extending it carefully.

It’s ok but quite wobbly and bends easily which is not good. This antenna doesn’t change what you can pick up or transmit

If you're expecting a huge difference in TX and RX, forget this item. However, if you're on the periphery of a repeater and can't quite access with the stock antenna, this will improve mattes, albeit slightly. With the output power of most handheld transceivers, this antenna only gives marginal improvement. When extended its very long, there's a big potential to gouge someone's eye out with it (if it doesn't bend and snap first). It's no substitute for an external antenna, mounted as high as possible, so the benefits are few but, for the price, it's worth a try even if the improvement is small

This is a great improvement over the RX antennas I have had before for lower freq rx Have not tried it for TX so not sure

Best antenna yet for my hand held both on transmit and receive.

Antenna dalle prestazioni eccellenti. Sono in possesso di numerose (anche troppe) antenne per portatili che includono quasi tutta la gamma Nagoya e Diamond (originali, e non le copie che spesso si trovano in line). Pro: Questa antenna supera in termini di ricezione e trasmissione la leggendaria Diamond SHR771 sia in VHF che in UHF. Credo non si possa pretendere di più. Contro: pesante rigida e delicata. Montata sulla radio in modo retratto è pericolosa per l'attacco in quanto estremamente rigida e pesante. In caso di caduta il danno è assicurato. Estrarre e richiudere con attenzione l'antenna è delicata. Da nuova macchia di nero le mani a causa del trattamento superficiale. Pulire con alcool denaturato ed un panno. In escursione utilizzo la Diamond SHR771 o la Nagoya NA-771. Arrivato a destinazione installo questa antenna per DX che hanno raggiunto o 300km con portatile da 5w. Ricordate che su VHF e UHF è importante la posizione in quanto la trasmissione avviene solo in linea retta. Non c'è antenna che possa superare questo ostacolo. Assolutamente consigliata come antenna da campo.
