ALSKAR DIAMOND ADTVBT 5 inch All Purpose Metal Cutting Dry or Wet Cutting Segmented Diamond Blades for Metal and Plastic Materials (5")

I hesitated to even use it, it looked so nice, gold with a diamond edge. I was half tempted to glue it on a marble slab for a paper weight. But I gave into curiosity and tried it out in the garage on some metal and flagstone. I was pleasantly surprised that it cut so well through metal. I'd watched some vids on diamond disks and the common complaint was that they tended to cut much slower than the cheaper composite ones. But that was not my experience, I found them to be about the same, at least on my sample cuts. I suppose results will vary depending on the material, but on angle iron and tool steel it did rather good. It cut through the flagstone like butter. And I noticed that the sparks were about half what a composite usually produces, I like that cuz I'm always a bit worried I'm going to burn the house down. There was substantially less dust too than a composite wheel, I don't like breathing it in or getting it on my clothes. And it's nice that this wheel doesn't get smaller as it's used, I'll always get the same cutting depth whether it's the first cut or 100th. I was expecting to be disappointed, but now I can't really think of anything to complain about. As of right now I can't think of any good reason to not give it 5 stars. If something new develops I'll come back and update my review.

One of the BEST blades I’ve ever used when it comes to metal. I’ve used several other brands ( Lennox, DeWalt, and various other big name brands ) and none of them have lasted as long or stayed as sharp as this one. As of right now it has over 100 cuts, cutting various metal pipe like EMT, greenfield and sealtite. I haven’t had the chance to use on galvanized or IMC yet. But I’m sure it would cut it.

For my particular use for this blade now, is to cut aluminum edging (Schluter) trim for a bath tile installation. It cuts well but isn't a fine trim blade. I have to file down the edging to get a very clean cut. On the other hand I cut threw a 3" X 3" X 1/8" angle iron. I took my time but it handled the task and didn't turn dull on me.

I purchased this blade to cut apart the framework of an old Kayak above ground pool. No complaints with shipping or condition of the blade on arrival. It attached easily to my angle grinder and I got to work cutting apart the heavy aluminum framework and iron bracing. The job's not completely finished yet, but so far, the blade has done everything required with no fuss. It has worn well and doesn't show any signs of dulling or breaking yet.

I used the blade to cut up an old 50 gallon water heater for disposal. It made several long cuts through the 1/4" steel tank quite easily.

Seems to cut fine only used it for a few cuts have to see how much life I get from it
