Absolutely perfect! I bought this for my granddaughter for her birthday as I had one as a kid from my nan and loved it. The only difference is the ballerinas skirt was net fabric in mine 😂. My daughter loved this gift. She had just recently been to the ballet to see Swan Lake and so this gift was the cherry on the cake for her to always remember her first ballet. The plus was that its ethnic as the ballet industry is predominantly Caucasian then other ethnicities with black danceers male and female being very few and far between. With that being said the industry is changing and there have been a lot more black dancers within ballet productions and a few rising black stars in their own right and this particular jewelry box reflects the changing industry reflects the the changes that the industry is going through especially in terms of ethnic dancers and having ballet shoes now that match their skin color being recent implementation so all positive things for this jewelry box it represents so much as to where the industry is at now and gives younger girls who want to be ballet dancers especially who are of different ethnicities other than Caucasian hope and helps to inspire them to fulfill their dreams as ballet dancers or to enter the industry. So, on the surface it may look like a simple jewelry box. However, it communicates that it has so much more sentimental meaning. In my opinion, it sends a positive subliminal message behind its design. A small, but very large creation of art in its own way.
