Works well, reasonably priced and reliable.
It will stir a 500ml beaker full of vegetable glycerine without trouble and does not take much space when not in use.I wanted one of these for the longest time, and even tried to make my own with magnets and a fan motor. But at this price it does make sense to buy one, at least for somebody like me who mixes relatively frequently batches up to 500ml.This said, I still only use it once or twice per month, so I do not know how it would fare with daily usage, but for my needs it is a good deal.

Beware!
Plugged in and switched on for the first time to be met with a loud pop, unsurprisingly the stir plate didn't work. I needed it for a yeast starter the same day so returning it wasn't an option. I found up a 5v psu and established that the stir plate was still working, I had another 9v psu with the wrong size jack plug so decided to swap out the lead, I proceeded to open up the broken psu and was shocked by what I found. As you can see from the photos there is a couple of very thin wires soldered directly onto the pins of the plug and on the output side a couple of wires which have been cut off and left with bare wire showing, the jack plug lead being soldered to the reverse of these on the pcb! I'm kind of glad it popped straight away as I hate to think what would have happened had I switched it on and gone off to work. Anyway now I have a decent psu on it, it is running absolutely fine, no problem getting a decent vortex in a 1L starter and there is a fair range of adjustability in the speed dial.

Works well
Great for mixing. Can mix oil and herb infusions as well as water solutions. Definitely worth buying.

Fine for thin liquids, struggles with thicker
Bought for mixing shellac flakes into alcohol. Really needs a very flat bottomed container for the mixing. If there is too much solid in the mixture it stops the mixing bead,

Magnetic Stirrer
I purchased this for my hot sauce preparation, only problem is that it doesn't actually stir at all. I turned the machine on and as promised it was very quiet, but unfortunately the pulp didn't move at all. I fished the stirring bar out have it a clean and placed it on the machine, when I turned it on the bar just vibrated a little. The most movement I got was on about one third power when the bar flew off. Cheap and cheerful but doesn't work!

Good for yeast starter for homebrewing
Used to make a 1ltr yeast starter for homebrewing. Ended up running for 3 days solid on a low speed with no issues.
