Informative, well-written history of the Baha'i Temple
Candace Moore Hill has effectively researched the history of the Baha'i Temple and condensed it to fit the numerous, well-selected photographs. For those who know the Temple well, she brings forth less known facts and to those to whom this book is an introduction it is a collective and interesting picture of how the Temple grew from an idea to a beautiful landmark and spiritual presence on Chicago's north shore.

Fascinating and thorough history of the famous building
This remarkable building is one of the most fascinating in the Midwest and has an equally compelling history. It was one of the most ambitious and innovative architectural projects of its time and even now, the scope and level of detail are astounding. This book, full of archival photos, documents the ideation, construction, and restoration of the temple and also describes its importance to the Baha'i faith.Recommended for those interested in religious architecture, the Baha'i faith, or Chicago area landmarks.

Baha'i Temple
Named one of the seven wonders of Illinois, the Baha'i Temple, along with those people who sacrificed to assure its completion, has majestically graced the Chicago North shore suburb of Wilmette since the mid-20th century. This detailed look back at its construction is not just another historical recap. Author Candace Moore Hill has researched in depth the history of this magical and spiritual structure, and the early Baha'is who were determined to bring this house of worship to a reality. She has portrayed the milestones of construction with photography and narrative that detail the unique methods and materials used to fulfill the dream of the architect. The story of the creation of the Baha'i Temple is clearly documented, as well as are the lives of early Baha'is in America, and of the role played by Abdu'l-Baha', the head of the Baha'i Faith at that time.
