33 Degrees of Deception: An Expose of Freemasonry

Interesting Story, Misleading Title.
First, I will state that I am not and have never been a Mason, nor is anyone in my family, therefore this review is unbiased. I somehow or another came across this book on Amazon, and knowing that a handful of acquaintances and one of my clients are Masons, I decided to read it.In short, my interpretation of this book is that it is intended to convert the reader to Christianity - it is essentially an Evangelical book. The author goes through his story of joining the Freemasons, rising up through the degrees and then in the Scottish Rite, and finally, and surprisingly, being awarded the 33rd Degree.I find many parts of the book hard to believe and in my opinion, they're fictional. First, the day after becoming a Mason, he goes to his government job (where his superiors are supposedly all Masons as well) and he gets a mysterious and immediate promotion to a job for which he's not qualified. This simply doesn't happen in government. Private sector, yes, but in government? No way. There is far too much bureaucracy involved and it's not something that can be done at the snap of a finger. Even more fantastic is his claim that he was given a phony civil service test for the new job. Sorry but unless the ENTIRE bureau where he worked was staffed 100% with Masons, that just can't happen. It's also strange that he was awarded the 33rd Degree. From the Masons I know, this is an honor that VERY few Masons ever get. And then he quit Masonry immediately after? If you look at any of the wild conspiracy theories about Freemasonry, all the "secret" stuff and world domination nonsense allegedly happens among 33rd degree Masons. If he really believed anything dark-sided was going on, you'd think he'd stick around a while to see if his perceptions were correct or not.On the subject of the name of Jesus not being included in Masonic prayers, this is for a very simple reason: Freemasonry is open to men of all religions, the one requirement being that you do in fact believe in a God. (No atheists are allowed.) It has nothing to do with being anti-Christian or anything else the author supposes. It is to keep things compatible with all religions. My Mason friends are mostly churchgoing Christians along with one Jewish friend who is active in his conservative synagogue. My all-time favorite author Napoleon Hill refers to God as "Infinite Intelligence" in his writings, and he even said he did that to keep his books compatible with all religions. There's nothing "anti-Christian" about it.Here's a true story I experienced: When I realized I'd been drinking too much, I bought a book called "The Easy Way to Control Alcohol." However, the book is cleverly designed to get you to quit completely, which I did. This book is based on the same concept - you think you're going to read a story revealing the deep dark secrets of Freemasonry, but instead you basically get a pitch to become a born-again Christian. In all, not a bad book, and the story is interesting enough to make it worth reading, but be prepared for the evangelical pitch at the end.

Arrived quickly and in perfect condition
I have several books I’m reading right now. I’ve gotten about 1/4 way thru this book and am finding it very informative although a little repetitive in the details. I bought for my own personal research and am pleased at the easiness in reading and how personal it is. Anxious to get further into book in order to understand the depth men go to in order to move up in degrees.

Eyeopening Must Read
As the daughter of a former mason and shriner who went to the top and was also a member of the Royal order of Jesters in Mexico City I always wanted to know the details of this horrible secret society. It almost ruined our family. My mother was also a member of Eastern Star. She renounced that when she became a Christian which almost caused a divorce between her and my father who was enraged over her decision. I came one day short of becoming a Rainbow girl. Something inside of me said "no" and I did not go through the initiation. This book is a very thorough expose of the truth of this secret society. Any Christian considering joining must read this book prior to making a decision to join. It's totally against the pure word of God, the Bible. It will open the door to curses on the family. Thankfully my brother, sister and I broke the curses over our family but not before being affected. In Deuteronomy 30:19-20 it says "I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days;...". Be informed!

Very real
I'm a christian saved by the blood of Jesus Christ by faith alone via the King James Bible. This book is very real and opens up your eyes to the dark world of evil. Not that you want to be enlightened with it but as Christians we are not to be ignorant of satans devices.

The book is almost as deceptive as it claims the Freemasons to be
Very redundant, the book probably could’ve been 1/3 as long. Touched on the shock and awe points and oaths but overall didn’t actually go into much depth concerning freemasonry which I was hoping for more of. Most of the book was spent bashing it from a Christian POV which I wasn’t looking for, the writer references points of Christianity and Jesus as facts which are actually no more fact than any opposing points, beliefs or religions. Definitely written with a hard bias which which was disappointing.

It's no secret that Free Masonry is nothing but a Satanic Deception
This is an insightful look at the not-so secrets of Free Masonry by an author once steeped in it. A fascinating and eye opening look at the harmful deception of a very powerful undercurrent fueling so many of what we call institutions. Shocking to hear all the blasphemous oaths and spiritual darkness that promises to bring your more light. The aim with Free Masonry after all is the aim, with anything like it. To discredit God as Creator. To discredit Jesus as God's Son and Savior, but to give prominence to every other religion, practice or believe. That should already tell you something is off. Everything is A-OK if it discredits God, Jesus and the Bible as an authority. What is shocking is that "christians" actually belong to this.

Excellent Exposure of Sun-god Worship (Hiram Abiff - Osiris - Baal)
33 Degrees of DECEPTION is a book with which I am highly impressed. McKenney uncovers this secret society accurately, cogently, objectively. I concur, after having read many Masonic authors, including Masonic occultist Pike, Freemasonry is paganism revived, i.e. Hiram Abiff / Osiris / Baal sun-god worship, cloaked in malevolently misquoted, misapplied Bible verses to conceal its deception. And there are even more disturbing revelations based on the true experiences and testimonies of seceded masons at the highest levels, who have risked their lives to expose Freemasonry's true dark nature. It is a compelling read. Read the Masonic literature yourself and compare it to God’s Word and the words of masons who now have the light of Christ.

Fascinating
An excellent, older account of one Freemason's journey through the ranks to the 33rd Degree, the highest honour Freemasonry can bestow, his conversion to Christianity and consequent rejection of Masonic beliefs. The first part of the book contains his personal story, which is very readable and enjoyable. The second part is a comparison of the beliefs of Freemasonry and those of Christianity, showing them to be completely incompatible. The book exposes the hypocrisy of pretending that that one can be a church member in good standing and still enjoy the privileges and influence that membership of Freemasonry brings. I found it pretty convincing, anyway.
